There are some OVAs I am not interested in and a few movies, i.e. Kizumonogatari; Ao no Exorcist; and the picture for Sakasama no Patema got me interested.

All in all this season doesn’t look that good to me. Perhaps I’ll watch some shows of last season - or I might even spend my time on something useful. Perhaps I'm just getting too old for this stuff

That's a sad looking season right there. Kizumonogatari is on my to watch list, but that's about it.

Haganai mk2 and Savanna Game.... eh.... maybe if I'm bored.

Oh and obvious fake is obvious. FMP3 is a long way off.

 

One Piece Film Z, Kizumonogatari and the Toaru Majutsu are the only things I'd be interested in. And they're not even anime series.

 

This series is kinda like Spice and Wolf, so if you liked ECONOMICS THE ANIME, then you might want to give this one a shot.

Looking forward to a lot of the movies coming out, and Chihayafuru S2. That's about it.

Maoyuu might be good. I enjoyed the manga a bit.

 

I'm a little leery of Maroyuu, mainly because the premise strikes me as . . . well, bad. The humans might go to war with one another, so we'll prevent that . . . by going to war with them.

Is it a tragedy? Do we follow the hero's descent into self-destruction because he fell for the lies of the demon queen and betrayed not just his people, not his nation, not his race, but his entire species for a pretty shitty reason.

Vivid Red Operation looks good, and I'm looking forward to AKB0048 S2. Mondaijitachi looks okay, and Love Live sounds interesting.

Dunno about OreKano, but I'll give it a whirl. I have a strong suspicion that I'll end up hating the MC. He already sounds like a faggot, and the "conflict" sounds like it could be easily resolved by him taking his childhood friend aside and saying, "look that girl over there just doesn't wanna be bothered by dudes all the time, so she asked me to act like her boyfriend so they leave her alone, so do us a favor and keep your mouth shut about it before the gig is up and we're all back to square one."

 

Wow, didn't know Maoyuu Maou Yuusha was getting an anime. Really loved the manga, so, I will definitely be checking that one out.

At least, that I thought before watching the trailer. Both main characters, Demon Queen and Hero seem to be drawn rather crappily, didn't like their character models at all. Don't think they got much of a budget. Far less enthusiastic now but will still give it a try.

 

So it's not just me getting too old.

 

Well, it could be all of us getting old.

 

Sasami looks... well, shit but I'll probably end up watching it anyway, if only because SHAFT's making it. Other than that just Kizumongatari. And maybe Blue Exorcist.

 

Just a shitty season. Have faith!

 

I don't know, Drome...doesn't look shitty. Disappointing, maybe, but shitty seems a little harsh.

- Savanna Game: Sounds like a sci-fi/fantasy version of Battle Royale, which I'm all kinds of okay with.

- Vivid Red Operation: More 14-year-old girls piloting mechs. Well, this is off to a wonderfully generic start...

- Guerrilla Space Idols Season 2: doeswantdoeswantdoeswantdoeswantdoeswantdoeswant

- Kizumonogatari: Big money, no whammies!

- Ore no Kanojo Another Really Long Title: Huh...a little role reversal. For once, the male is the tsundere and the unavoidable harem is trying to thaw his frosty heart. I may have to watch this just for the novelty.

- Modai Jitachi ga blah blah blah: Not gonna lie, the little preview pic doesn't inspire any feelings of excitement or interest.

- Senran Kagura: aka Hyakka Ryouran focused on ninja instead of samurai. They probably should have just stuck to making games.

- Love Live!: Another idol anime? What is this I don't even

- Cuticle Tantei Inaba: I...What? Just, what?

- Maoyuu Maou Yuusha: I'm interested in this. I might have to look up the manga to see if I'll keep that interest for longer than five minutes.

 

Hahahahahaha. Yeah I think I'm going to catch up with Sons of Anarchy instead. Pyscho Pass is spoiling me, I can't take half of these seriously. Kizumonogatari might be interesting though.

 

A more thorough chart. Definitely a lot more anime on this version that I want to see.

Train Hero sounds... okay. I might try to find it just to see it once.

Oh. My. God. Those dead eyes and that grimace on the Hero's face.

Haha. Oh god no.

 

A bunch of shorts and Maoyuu have aired; the former can be summed up as garbage, while the later can be summed up in the following gif.



Crazy boob physics aside, episode one of Maoyuu is interesting enough that even if I wasn't a fan of the manga I'd still follow it for a bit to see where it goes. The art style is kinda meh, but the character animation is really fluid, and the backgrounds are pretty. The character designs are also pretty good (someone did their research are actual medieval clothing for this).

Also, Inferno Cop is the only short that has come out that isn't absolute trash. It's directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi (the man behind Gurren Lagann), which should tell you everything you need to know about this show. Go watch it.

 

So I watched the first episode of Maoyuu Maou Yuusha. Great scenery, the plot seems decent enough (except for the whole "I'm gonna kill you!"/"You're going to love me!" thing going on), and the character animations are well done.

Two things though:

1) The faces seem a little too static; the expressions are either frowns or blushes. Nothing else.

2) No other way to say this, so...TITS. Seriously, TITS. Honestly, as a design choice, was that really necessary? And on top of that then she has the gall to say she's got an undesirable figure?

And while I'm at it, let me bring up:

3) Why were 90% of the introduced characters women with romantic interest in the Hero? Is this really going to degenerate into a harem anime?

Ah, whatever. I'll watch the next episode to see how where this goes. Other than that, I'm still waiting for some of the other shows to premiere.

TL;DR, if you don't watch it, you'll have to live with a pained, hurt expression in these doe-like eyes staring at you for the rest of your life. And nobody wants that.

 

Yeah, just watched it and it got me hooked.

 

More shorts have aired, they also suck. What is it with all these five minute shows getting released the season?

Senran Kagura is a show made of boobs and the slutty kunoichi (as if there's any other kind in anime) that they're bolted onto.

THE UNLIMITED Hyobu Kyosuke is arguably the best action show this season. Solid designs and fluid animation, and Manglobe seems to have the flair needed for crazy psychic battles. A last minute "twist" gives me some hope for the actual plot of this show.

AMNESIA is a pretty, but not especially interesting, reverse-harem thing. Not my jam, but if it's yours you may want to check it out.

Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman has a lot of Lupin III vibes, and not jsut because the character designs were done by Monkey Punch. Could be interesting, gonna have to watch more first.

I haven't watched any of Aoi Sekai no Chushin de, but the description makes me think this will be hilariously bad, or just bad. Decide for yourselves.
