I'm not sure about the plot, but the production crew looks promising in that they actually have some amount of experience in the film industry (though they're hardly seasoned pros).

I'm not sure what to think about the use of Kickstarter. Essentially they're asking people to give them money in exchange for a fan work. They're not aiming to make a profit, sure, but it still makes me nervous.

 

My first thought was:

There's no way this goes through. JKR might not mind fan works but movie studios are cutthroat.

And that one was successfully funded. Color me surprised.

 

I don't think the premise sounds all that interesting, tbh.

If it's all just for production values and paying the actors, then go for it: they (specifically, the creators) are not making a paycheck or profit out of it.

Maybe portfolio examples, but that's perfectly fine.
