So basically I have spent the last half hour scouring the internet for go RAB fics and all of them are either romance, romantic slash, smut between Regulus and his brother and Hermione time travel fics. I really really really hate Hermione in most fics.

So I have come to you DLP in my time of need. Please give me good reading material!

 

Um, first one that came to mind was https://m.fanfiction.net/s/9832189/1/Dead-Man-Walking by cwyscross. Three chapters/50k words/abandoned. It was a good premise though.

 

Literally the only fics I've read with Regulus in have been the Sacrifices Arc by Lightning on the Wave. Good stories (far from perfect), but Regulus a)doesn't appear properly until the fourth or fifth book, b) is a secondary character who spends a lot of time doing stuff off screen, and c) spends a fair amount of time trying to get into a relationship with Snape.

 

On the Wings of a Phoenix

I recommend this story a lot, since it has a lot of potential in the various plot devices, though I wish it was better written. Regulus Black is a supporting character in the story. It starts post 5th year, like every indy!Harry story, and Harry is initially distraught that his Godfather is dead, while this man who looks like him (regulus) is alive. Regulus sacrificed his voice in part of a ritual to protect his village from Ministry detection, and hasn't left since, so the public thinks him dead. He's already married with children in the fic, so you don't have to worry about surprise buttsex.

 

Cast the little Prince by Tsume yuki : Regulus reborn as Harry Potter.

In Bad Faith features Regulus quite prominently, as does The World As We Knew it. The first one is as good as an SI can get, I suppose. The second is a dimension travel fic written pre-DH and was good for its time, but I'm not sure how well it has aged.
