At first glance, it seems to be your average Azkaban Harry, what with the usual wandless magic to escape, and desire to have revenge, and all that rot. And really, it is. But it's written quite well, and the way they made the wandless magic is actually quite original. While not the type of story I would incite a stampede over, it's still worth a read. Definitely better than most other Azkaban fics.

 

No it's not!!!
I've read this earlier and this story sucks. Apparently in two years that Harry was in Azkaban (After GoF) he is now a fucking god. He makes a windless shield that most of the order including Albus fucking Dumbledore cannot shatter or penetrate. Yeah right..... Of course all he cliches present like burning his stuff, killing Hedwig and Lupin&Black calling him embarrassment to his parents. The only thing "original" in this story is that he escapes with Daphne who was put there for fucking walk in Diagon Alley!
In short my recommendation- throw this story to the garbage and be quick about it!

 

Too little to judge.

It's only 4000 words and has only one chapter. I will read it when it gets to a greater length.

 

It's not horrible (spelling is decent Edit:just kidding, spelling has some problems, though only a few, complete sentence, etc), but it's not great. Frankly when something like this:

comes up, I cringe. Harry should never want to save them. Ever. I am fine with him not wanting to destroy the whole wizarding world, but thoughts like the above lead to wishy-washy forgiveness or lack-luster revenge where no one is really hurt beyond feeling devastingly guilty.

Plus, they kill Hedwig. Come on. I hate that. She's an owl. I can see them stealing her, but never killing her. It always puts a bad taste in my mouth when I read that. Not to mention, I can't ever see Hedwig getting close enough to them to allow them to kill her, but that part isn't really here or there.

 

Well, reading Athenia's quote, i refuse to read it heh. I cannot stand azakaban fics where Harry forgives everyone, its just... ugh

anyway, i would read it if it were longer, but thats that.

 

Its not that bad. And I dont think he will forgive them, rather let them suffer in their guilt. Thats much more painful for them then to just slaughter them.

If anything I am concerned that it will evolve into some sappy romance. But its too early to tell, I will wait how it develops.

 

Same hear its a good start tho.

 

It is original to a point, like the wandless magic. Everything else is just the run of the mill azkaban story

 

It's a little short for my tastes, but has promise. I just wish the author would HURRRY UP!!!

ANyway, looks like a pretty good beginning. The pairing is what makes it, methinks. You don't really see much Harry/Greengrass.

 

How is wandless magic combined with Azkaban original? Isn't that one of the main cliches?

 

It's not the combination of wandless magic and Azkaban that is original, Athenia, it's the way wandless magic is manipulated in this story that is original.

 

^That makes sense. It is done differently here than in most stories out there.

With HarryDaphne fics a person could do any thing they wanted without it being to OOC, atleast for Daphne, as long as she isn't very fluffy bunnies and sunshine
