Hey everybody, there are currently two other games in front of this one in the queue: Choose Your Side, hosted by Lexicat and WiFom City: The Doctor Will Raise You Now, hosted by Titus. Not to mention Prophylaxis's game, which is scheduled to start imminently.

Until Titus and Lexicat don't get back to me soon about the status of their games, I'm going to use my Moderator's discretion and close this thread. Once I hear back from Titus and Lexicat, or get an update of their games, I will reopen this thread at a later date, closer to its actual, scheduled start.

Before I continue sign-ups I want to edit the date for game start. I also wanted to ask if there were any new players who wanted a spot. By new players I mean new to the site or new to the game. (site = signed up within last year. game = 5 or less mafia's total).

If you are, I would ask that more experienced members perhaps swap out and be mentors/replacements to give newbies a chance to learn the site players and learn the game respectively.

If this is something our more experienced players are opposed too I'll do anothr super simple game for the newbies only later on down the road, unless someone beats me to it.

 

I'd like a spot once you're doing signups again. I've lurked on the site for a while but I'm new to the game besides observing Wifom.

 

I'm thinking I may have to drop out, depending on the start date. I'll be out of town for a week in late May as well as the last 3 weeks of June.

Riley, please reserve two slots for TerRaine and Burkion too--they're entirely new and came to this site just to learn how to play mafia, so this is perfect for them.

I've played mafia in RL before but I don't know how it works here on DLP. Ideally, I'd need someone to hammer out how things are done for me, step by step so I don't slow things down stupidly when the game starts. On IRC perhaps? I'm free for today as its Friday afternoon. If someone would be so kind to spend their time on the newbie player, that would much appreciated.

@Riley: been on DLP for a year and haven't played any mafia games on here before, so I'm as new to this as it gets.

 

A bit of clarification on the whole Newbie thing. If you fit either/both of the criteria I laid out, I'll throw you on the newbie list. If I get enough to fill a full list, I will offer mentorship to those who want it.

If a newbie decides to accept a mentor, they will share the newbie's QT, allowing for the mentor and the newbie to converse during the day. The mentor will not be allowed to view the Obs QT, nor will they be allowed to comment on the game anywhere but within the QT provided. If for some reason the Newbie has to be pulled out of game, the Mentor will serve as their replacement.

Ideally I'd like for all the old hands to pick a newbie to mentor and stand as replacement for. That way we can get fresh players into the Little Italy forum and potentially boost our population so it's not the same players over and over.

If you know someone who'd be interested, please send them over. I still have 5 Newbie slots left.

To the more experienced players, your cooperation would be greatly appreciated, but again if there's enough of a majority to keep the current Sign-up list, PLEASE let me know so I can make sure I'm not dicking you over in any way. This is completely voluntary on the mentors/old-hands part and I would love to see a game of people who haven't played/are new to site.

Have you been observing the current WIFOM game? It might give you an idea of what to expect.

 

This is my first ever visit to Little Italy, so no. I might take a look though.

EDIT: And Sloth, look at you. Barely a few months on the board and already making waves.

Scott, just a bit of clarification, WIFOM is literally the hardest Mafia I've ever seen, period. If Mafia was a scale of 1-10, AYAW is at a 1-2 while WIFOM is a 7 or 8. AYAW is about as simple as you can get really.

 

Shockingly, I do know what they are, I just don't know what I've done that you'd call waves. XD
Sassy though. You're going to do just fine at Mafia here with that attitude.
