A negative is worse than nothing, but that's just me.

Edit: And I was talking about the "goodbye" post. His "really leaving now" post is irrelevant.

Well rereading his exact words, I may have actually misread so if I'm wrong, sorry about that iLost. The way I originally read it was "is anyone actually using their QT's here" I took that to mean that he was waiting on other people to use the QT with him, which would have made him a werewolf. Re-reading the message however doesn't necessarily imply that since he goes on to talk about using them for personal notes.

Still, that could merely be a method of trying to distract us but I admit that my original interpretation wasn't completely accurate

Oh I missed the previous vote for Silverlasso, what numbers does that put us at now?

Its cool, misreading happens all the time. And in a normal game I'd be more inclined to agree with you that that was a scum read. In this small a game though, scum doing anything to paint a target on they're back isn't a plan. Its just dumb.

As you can see the Werewolves killed iLost for us.

At least we have a longer day.

    So, gather thoughts.

Rubicon = Villager, because he knew some roles didn't have a QT.

Who jumped to kill iLost, even after me posting plan, as the Mafia would do that?

Xantam sticks out. Go back and read his posts. His 'in the interest of achieving something today' feels off.. I say lynch him today.

So does Disposablehead. He voted for iLost early and didn't switch. Perhaps he was hoping to get rid of the Seer without using a NK.

I don't see why werewolves would care whether we lynched iLost or silver or anyone other town player.

    - We lynch silver / any other random villager, they lynch iLost, we're down 2 and out our Seer.
    - We lynch iLost, they lynch whoever they want, we're still down 2 and out our Seer.

Actually, it seems like optimal werewolf strategy would just be to keep their heads down and not do anything to attract attention.

(partly why I didn't vote to lynch silver - he was too obvious)

Could buy that, though it's hardly conclusive. Either way, he hasn't really registered on my scumdar.

Possibly. Sounds like a bit of a stretch though.

That was his only post in the thread. You're reaaally stretching this one.

So, you make a post about people who jumped on iLost even after you, Kalas, and I posted ideas on why it would be better to no lynch him and ignore the one obvious choice?

I think Schrodinger makes a better wolf candidate than either of your choices.

    1. Super-defensive when I voted him for no reason at the beginning (weak argument, but it did register on the scumdar)

    2. Even after all of the evidence that iLost was the Seer, he still continued pushing to lynch him, saying we couldn't trust anything he said.

    3. Finally changed his vote to silverlasso, not because he was convinced that taking out iLost wasn't the best idea, but because he wanted to ensure a lynch for the day. I shouldn't have to mention that if he's scum, Schro would have known that silverlasso was innocent, so lynching him instead of iLost wouldn't change the results for the day (vs. a no-lynch).

Actually, now that I think about, the town really has nothing to lose by not lynching someone if there's a high degree of uncertainty about guilt and innocence. That probably would have been the better choice on Day 1.

I voted early, then didn't check until silverlasso was gone. :facepalm

Coleam's arguments make a lot of sense, so lets hold off on the vote for a bit. Rubicon, Kalas, and the Great Pandimonium sound like villagers, and I'm less sure about coleam, Eternity Lost, Duke of Rothwood, Yeagen. I have a hunch Schroedinger and Xantam are wolves. Anyone else?

Yeah, Coleam makes a good point. Scum would always prefer we lynch a villager over doing nothing. Reading through the thread, the people pushing the hardest for a lynch were Schrodinger and Xantam.

Plus their arguments for it were pretty retarded: Schrodinger just said not lynching would "screw over town" - how? and Xantam said we'd lose the chance to "save a villager" - uh what?

No. You always need to lynch Day 1. It gives you information people pushing for lynches etc. And there's the 2/13 chance you'll hit a wolf at random.

    Especially with Role Reveals.

To be honest, Coleam, I think you're a likely scum candidate. As you said, it wouldn't change the results for the day+night if Silverlasso was lynched instead of iLost. So you rescinded and switched your vote to Silverlasso to gain townpoints.

Putting that aside, I say Vote: Xantam

That sounds like an argument for "everyone should post a lot and vote for the person they think is scummiest" and not an argument for "you always need to lynch Day 1". Am I missing something?

    ...which is pretty shitty odds.

What's your reason for voting for Xantam btw?

Well this really sucks to be down two people already. To be honest I'm not entirely sure who to lynch now, I need to re-read the previous posts and try to figure it out. After looking things over more closely I'll come back with my thoughts.

btw, what are your reasons for selecting Xantam?

Xantam & Schroedinger pushed heavily for iLost's lynch, then switched late to kill lasso. Just go back and reread their posts. The two seem like the most likely wolves.

Since I'm gonna be AFK: Vote: Xantam

Unexpected turn of events I missed while I was away.

    Explanations for my actions:
I was one of the first to vote to iLost because I figured, a 2/3 chance of killing a werewolf was too good to pass up. As for changing the lynch to lasso at the end, maybe that was stupidity on my part, but the majority of the town seemed to think he was a werewolf, and the lynch vote for iLost(who I thought was another werewolf) seemed to be going nowhere.

I realize now that it looked like I was pushing for a lynch, but honestly, as a new mafia player, I kinda thought that not reaching a consensus everyday was a bad thing.

As for my scum reads, I don't really see any actions that can really be looked upon with too much scrutiny. Voting for either iLost or silverlasso yesterday would both be positives for the scum, so voting patterns don't seem to be that useful.

If I had to pick though, I'd vote either Kalas or EternityLost, based on gut feeling alone, and the plan they both concocted regarding dealing with iLost, which could have just been to curry favor with the town.

    Wait, what?
I was super-defensive because I got bandwagon killed once first day and didn't want it to happen again: it looked to me like you were just throwing out a bullshit vote. I apologize.
What evidence? All we had to go on was iLost's word, which we had a 2/3 chance of not being able to trust. In retrospect I feel dumb as fuck, but at the time?
As Xantam said, I was under the impression that a first day lynch was very important, but I voted for silverlasso because Kalas's reasoning seemed solid.

I agree to an extent. However, if a situation like yesterday occurs, where we debate most of the day and then switch targets basically at the last minute based on very circumstantial evidence, it would probably be better for the town not to lynch. I'm not saying that everyone should vote no-lynch to start off - that would kill the point. Of course, this could just be the hindsight talking.

I rescinded when silverlasso had one vote, after Kalas posted his analysis of the situation. When I actually took the time to think about what iLost had said and to contemplate the various scenarios, I decided that no lynching him would be the best choice. I then voted for silverlasso later because he didn't make very strong arguments in his defense and I hadn't thought about a no-lynch scenario yet.
