This is one of my favourite Star Wars fics, and it has been for a long time. I recently reread it and decided that it needed to be recced here.

The basic premise of the Limpet AU of which this is a part is that Darth Vader survives the Death Star II's destruction, and is somewhat rehabilitated in the aftermath. This is a short slice of life fic in that AU series that can be read alone, based on an interaction between Vader and R2-D2.

The prose can be somewhat purple, and I can't say that the comedy or the emotional gut punch I got off of it the first time I read it will hit the same for everyone, but it's worth a read. Give it a go.

    5/5.

This oneshot does an excellent job showing Darth Vader's emotional state through his interaction with R2-D2, while the comedic aspect ensures that the overall tone remains light. 5/5.
