In the book 7 section, there is a thread called the Arianna Dumbledore Fanclub.
In it, many people stated that they liked or even loved her. Now I'm wondering, has anyone even written a fic with her yet?

 

There's been a few... Nuhuh wrote one, I think. But none have them been updated in a while, or have gotten past one or two chapters. I could be wrong though.

 

I was curious about this too, as I've seen several peopl with banners in their signatures with "Arianna Dumbledore Fan" or something similar. Why do people love her?

 

First off...guys. Her name has one N. It is not Arianna. It is Ariana. There is a difference, slight though it may be.

Second...this is only conjecture, but I think that the main reason people love Ariana so much is because of two reasons:

1) Her story is tragic. Because of a couple muggles, she lost the ability to control her magic. After that, she had to be isolated in order to protect her and everyone else, definitely unable to go to school because of her condition. Finally, in some conflict that started between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, she died.
2) Her entire story made her a martyr, setting Dumbledore back on the right path. Without her, Dumbledore and Grindelwald likely would have continued seeing eye to eye, and would have together taken over the wizarding world.

Again, only conjecture, but it does make sense.

Because we're a bunch of fanboys at heart, and enjoy gathering around and worshipping various female characters who don't get enough screentime.

And never forget that the initials of the Ariana Fan Club conveniently make an ill-disguised jab at another group of the same initials which the starters of the Ariana Fan Club dislike.

What? That's purely conjecture, GOOD SIR. I happen to have been "there" when the AFC was invented and I joined soon after - and any connection to any other acronym-ed organization or group is purely coincidental. After all, why would Bio or Jon (who started the fine club) have any reason to lie to me or the world? Neither one of them have any reason to hate or insult the ... other club in question, if such a club even exists.

Which it doesn't (I assume, since I'm not a member).

But purely on topic, the old classic author nuhuh DID in fact start such a story (http://www.patronuscharm.net/s/25/1/), and is currently working on it - but keep it mind it is only one of the nearly twenty he is writing.

Also, IP82 wrote a oneshot (but fairly lengthy) story at http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3693508/1/The_last_dinosaurs_roar with a bit of Ariana, which I think is a pretty decent story.

I haven't run across any other decent stories with her as a major character yet.

I had her playing a bit role in the first chapter of Contemplating Clouds, partly for my own amusement, partly to see how many people would figure out it was her. During my weak moments, I contemplate taking her out of the painting for a Harry/Luna/Ariana OT3.
