No one answered this, so I will: Nope. She wasn't in a single scene this week. She wasn't even an extra in the party scene, which is kinda hilarious.

Also: my personal hatred for Laurel in this show is that she hasn't done much - if anything, really - to justify her character's existence. Her character arc has involved doing a lot of nothing and affecting other characters' arcs, almost unanimously negatively in one way or another.

Which is entirely on the writers. Laurel's character is a massive black spot on their record, and if they want her to take over as Black Canary, they need to do something, anything to start fixing her character, because as it stands the show is actually better when she's not around, which is seriously fucked up.

The A.V. Club wrote a glowing review of Arrow's run so far.

It's a really good article and does a fantastic job of summarizing why I appreciate this show so much.

EDIT: Huh, I was honestly expecting this to merge with the previous post. In any case, sorry for the double-post, but this is worth sharing.

Not yet. Solomon Grundy in the comic books died way back in the day and iirc got turned into a zombie because the swamp he was hung in had a Lazarus Pit leaking into it or some such shit.

If they are going to make this guy Solomon Grundy, Ollie needs to hang him. Presumably, that's about the only way to reliably kill someone hopped up on Brother Blood's Mirakuru derivative, since we were flat out told that their muscle density is about the same as hardened concrete. You'd probably have to go with a chain noose to make sure, but whatever.

Haha, yes! I'm glad they're not pussyfooting with Deathstroke.

As for the rest of the episode, all I can say is Roy is slowly climbing to a great character, and Felicity can go fuck herself. We returned to the Diggle and Ollie awesomeness once again (though I would prefer Slade and Ollie vs the World), and hopefully we can do that a lot more.

But seriously, FUCK FELICITY. Do not trivialize Oliver's goddamn five year struggle of life and death on the island. And get out of every goddamn scene. Why did Slade's spiel at the end have to cut to her for loved ones? I don't even know if I'm still dreading the return to Laurel/Oliver.

And shit, I am excited for Flash.

I was so happy when I seen him and so glad that they're going with the old school Deathstroke from teen titans instead of the new 52 version.

I wonder why Brother Blood thinks that Roy would fight for him after being injected by Mirakuru. Something to do with the psychologist?

God, I'm so sick of Felicity. Even Laurel doesn't get on my nerves as much anymore.

    But Shado was best girl.

That's because Laurel is not the love interest anymore. If Shado somehow became the main love interest you'd start to hate her.

There is something about being the love interest of a main character leading a double life that makes viewers hate the character.

Honestly, I never liked Felicity. She was blonde girl I hope gets killed from her very debut. They tried to hard to make her cute and quirky to me and just left me annoyed.

Laurel was bad. But I already knew it was generic Love Interest awfulness in effect so she never remotely bothered me as much as Felicity.

At least neither can compare to Lana Lang.

Lana was decent for the first couple of seasons (though Chloe/Clark was in full force for me). Laurel just never really got started, and I won't hesitate to say her best moments came from her time with Tommy than anything with Oliver or even on her own. As for Felicity, she's done fine for the most part and I still like her, but a lot of her moments have increasingly been stereotypical love interest moments than any of the awkwardness than endeared the fans to her so quickly.

    Was fantastic.

Starting to dislike Felicity. She dosent seem to understand that he went through hell on the island.

Sara annoys me each episode too, she lied to Slade to save her own skin, like she sold out Oliver to Ivo.

Fucking amazing red herring by the writers for the flash origin though, the particle accelerator was amazing diversion.

Slade being behind it was awesome, and it makes sense for how they couldve gotten it.

Lastly, with Roy apparently getting powers, slightly worried he'll dominate the show with them, but I guess we will have the arc of him trying to go out on his own to be a hero, dragging Thea along with him, and eventually there will be a Roy vs Oliver fight? :p

So I'm going to assume that Cyrus Gold getting all the Mirakuru on his face(reminds me of the cliched falling into a chemical to get powers) is what is going to allow him to survive the Swamp elemental thingy that turns him into Solomon Grundy instead of a full fledged elemental.

It seems I'm the only one excited for Solomon Grundy.

It seems to me the writers suck at romance. The Ollie/Felicity chemistry wasn't intentional last year. This year, it is and the writing is feeling forced. Plus, they are giving Felicity dumb lines that sound like they could have come from Laurel.

I hope this is a one time thing, because if not its a problem.

Both evil and good Slade have their merits.

You know, Slade's been getting a lot of attention recently. Arkham Origins, Injustice, this, and he even got a small, but cool role in the Flashpoint Paradox movie. I think he had a solo comic recently too, but I don't know if that's still ongoing. This Slade kind of reminds me of his Teen Titans incarnation now, where he was a leader of an organization instead of just a mercenary.

Good episodes, now that I've gotten around to watching them. I liked the guy who played Barry, he played up the awkward geek thing pretty well. Hopefully he can also do the heroic type later on though.

I didn't expect him to get his powers already. I always thought the "hit by a bolt of lightning" thing was kind of stupid to be honest (forgetting about the one depiction where the bolt of lightning is actually Barry from the future manifesting from the Speed Force after death to give himself his own powers, which is... questionable), so I was hoping for the particle accelerator to provide an alternative. Well at least it's a little better than the original origin. And it's definitely better than the original Flash, Jay Garrick's origin, where he just inhaled "hard water vapors" and got super-speed from it.

Uh, the lightning was caused by the particle accelerator explosion.

It was the same color of the energy wave that came after the initial boom.
