Anyway I'm really wary about how they're going to handle Grood. Powers is one thing, talking Gorilla? I don't know they've clearly separated themselves from Arrow's look or theme or aesthetic. Can't think of a better word.

Anyway really hope the Mirror master, Captain Cold, Trickster and Boomerang are played by really good actors and they don't dark and broody them.

Two quirky scientists are a bit meh but they have potential I guess. Iris is not annoying so that's good.

 

I disliked Iris. Indian looking scientist will be hit or miss I think, but I actually liked the emo one. She seemed a bit flakey at the start, but then they suddenly gave her character some depth with the brutal reply to "You don't smile a lot."

The pilot was decent in general, but not amazing. Similar to how Arrow started I think.

Has the potential to be the best show about superpowers IMO. Nothing else really does it justice, except maybe The Avengers, but that's just one movie so far.

 

To be fair, Grood was just a cage. It could have been an easter egg, like Harley Quinn. Also, Caitlin's hopefully not just a name they picked out, and she actually becomes relevant as her comic counterpart (Killer Frost).

Also, AoS is actually handling superpowers fairly decently from what I saw, though they're taking a much more restrained approach to it.

As for Laurel, don't forget that S2 is very, very bad for her. It's just one rollercoast of emotional turmoil after another. Obviously I don't know this, but I'm fairly sure her sudden gauntness was an in-universe thing. The bitchiness is also mostly resolved by season end.

 

She was hot in Supernatural as a blonde as well. I don't know if it was plastic surgery or weight loss in season 2 of Arrow, but damn. Such a huge change.

 

She did something to her chin and she lost like 20 lbs training to do some fight stuff. Rumors say she's going to become the Black Canary, so she's been working her butt off. She's still hot, but to me, shes just got this much older, unhealthy look to her face now. I'd think Botox, since I notice when she smiles her face moves much less.

 

I'm not 100% convinced it wasn't on purpose. She was playing an addict for much of the season and she did start to look a little healthier towards the end.

Arsenal confirmed for season 3. Although I thought Arsenal would look more like the one from Young justice, you know, carrying an actual arsenal.

 

I'm sure the costume will undergo changes like Arrow's did.
Although at this point it's a helluva lot better than Arrow's costume

 

Arrow's "costume" is just the green hood Yao Fei and Shado wore over a green jacket and pants. It's supposed to be pretty simple - Oliver wasn't really thinking about becoming a hero or a symbol when he started wearing it. I'm not opposed to him making some updates to his costume, but it's good for what it is.

Roy's costume is pretty awesome, though my one problem with it is the same as the one I had with Deathstroke's costume - all the little buckles. Roy's isn't as bad as Slade's was, and I get that they have a point but it just looks a little over the top to me and impractical. Same for all the lacing on his jacket - just more stuff to get caught on things during a fight.

But whatever, let's be honest - it looks awesome, so rule of cool wins.

I really doubt the showrunners would appropriate an iconic name like that and just give it to Felicity. So excited for the possibilities this season.

More seriously, this looks incredibly awesome. We've already gotten a tease regarding the state of the Batverse with Harley, but this would be a much bigger step in that direction. The notion that Batman and co. are already well established also keeps the door open for a potential merger of the film and TV verses. I'm also extremely interested in what they do with Ray Palmer here. There seem to be more and more heroes coming into the fold as the series progresses.
