That was the best episode of season 3 yet.

 

Oh shit son :0. That was amazing.

 

Ra's Al Ghul lived up to my expectations. Glad to see him completely annihilate Oliver. This is a man who in most recent incarnations trained the Batman. I can easily see it. An immortal badass. Well done. Just well done.

Episode was awesome, can't wait for eventual Lazarus Pit shenanigans.

 

I kind of miss my childhood ignorance. If I was watching this show 15 years ago I'd be freaking out that they off'd a main character but now I'm just pissed I have to wait 2 months to figure out how they bring him back. Is Merlyn the one who uses the pits or the asain dude from the flash backs?

 

I'm thinking Merlin revives Oliver with the Pit, maybe Maseo, but mostly Merlin spouting some bullshit about the debt being paid with his death or w/e...still, I was expecting Oliver to pull some bullshit out of his ass and actually win. Pleasantly surprised he lost and in the way he did.

 

Nah Im glad they had Ra's on another level, and they made Oliver look good by Ra's saying hes better than most.

I honestly will get sick of that line by Malcom soon tho, that Oliver shouldnt kill him for Thea. Thea's happiness or the body's hes going to be racking up eventually?

I reckon there will be no pit, he'll just survive somehow. And come back in 3 months with a goatee.

 

If they don't use the pit of Lazarus I'll be disappointed. One, if Oliver survives that death blow then his organs aren't anatomically correct. Two, if you have a pit of Lazarus in your cannon then you use that shit. Only once a season though.

 

I don't know anything about the character beyond the Batman movies and video games, but I reallyRa's in this episode. His quiet, understated badassery was a nice counterpart to Slade's growliness and Malcolm's eternal shit-eating grin. Arrow has really nailed it with the villains.

 

So, guys.
How's that for a cliffhanger, eh? Eh?

That aside, all I want to say has already been said, but the mind-control-and-then-forget-about-it thing would probably lead to some sort of copout in a worse series.
On the other hand, I mostly have faith in the showrunners, though we'll have to see how Laurel holds up in the next few weeks.

 

It pretty much has to be confirmed at this point, listening to Ra's talk. What does he say, "I haven't had a trial by combat in 60 years" or something like that? Basically the only way he could look that youthful for someone older then at least 60 years.

 

Yeah, but does that mean Malcom dosent know then? People were saying he probably does, but he wanted Oliver to kill Ra's, if he knew about the pit, surely he knew that would be near impossible, let alone Oliver having the skill in the first place.

 

It's the only way I can come up with for Malcolm to still be alive so personally Im gonna go with yes.

 

I thought it was the common theory on malcolms survival, him using the pit.

 

My theory on this..Mirakuru is actually some sort of derivative of the Lazarus Pit. Malcolm only needed to use a small bit of this purer form to live.

So supposedly the next three episodes are Laurel focused? #killme

 

I hope the Omega serum from the flashbacks ends up being a different sort of mirakuru with other mutations than just super strength. If Laurel has to become Black Canary I'd rather she be a sonic scream glass cannon than a badass brawler in just two or three months' time. It'd fit into the lore they've already set up, Japanese scientists made mirakuru so the Chinese try to outdo them with omega. Then metahumans don't have to conveniently live in Central City to get powers (and we could see a powered Count Vertigo).

 

I'm thinking Lazarus, Mirakuru and Omega are all going to be connected with the way they've shown Maseo in Oliver's past and now with the League. Sort of how they "combined" the fight between Oliver and Slade they'll make the transition between discovering Omega and Oliver coming back in the Lazarus pit, and the way they revealed the mind control drug with Thea and that scientist.

 

I have no knowledge of anything apart from the show itself.

I'm not sure whether I want to read up on what a lazarus pit is, or just wait to learn from the show. I guess I can expect Oliver not to remain dead though, I did think it a bit odd that they suddenly offed the main character. Fight was excellent, Ra's al Ghul was played extremely well.

Those fucking cliffhangers though... jesus.
