Still can't quite figure out how Quentin hasn't clocked on yet that Ollie is the Arrow; he knows that both Felicity and Diggle work with the Arrow, he knows that both Felicity and Diggle work with Ollie, the Arrow has been missing for several weeks, Ollie has been missing for several weeks, the Arrow comes back, Ollie comes back. Jesus, put like that Quentin is a really bad detective.

I think he made an active choice not to try and figure out who he is. He's one of the few people who see the Arrow as a symbol. Everytime he interacts with him, he's talking to the guy in the mask and that's it everything else doesn't matter.

Also I still think he knows its Ollie but he just won't call him out on it. There's no beef anymore.

Yep. He knows and has known for at least a season and a half. Most likely longer.

The scene in the latest episode where he calls out Roy under the hood was about as blatant as they've ever been about it. He knows the faces under the hoods, but he's more concerned with results, actions. The whole 'symbol' thing that Batman did in the DKR. It didn't matter who was under the mask, so long as the job got done.

    Practical vigilantism.

Also, the police have sort of accepted the Arrow now, haven't they? Wasn't there a scene thanking him for the work he's done. When he saved the city from Deathstroke, and in the latest episode gave a televised speech.

    Lance knows and doesn't care.

Yeah, I was really disappointed with Ollie's return.

"Hey, sorry I didn't come sooner..."

I mean really, bro? You act like you were late to dinner or something, not presumed dead for weeks. And instead of ending the episode on a high note, we had Felicity crying like a stupid bitch and running off. Again. At least this time it wasn't with Roy Palmer.

Gotta say, I was really happy with how they did Thea's reveal. Still got one last secret, but the fact that she forgave Oliver like that redeemed a lot of the negative aspects of the character.

Wish Roy had kicked more ass though. He needs to step up his game.

Just watched the lastest episode and when Ollie revealed his secret to Thea and she was happy, I did wonder for a minute if the next scene was gonna be the real reveal and Thea being happy was just Ollie's dream scenario. She just took it too well. Also, unless I missed something why does Thea suddenly hate Malcolm? She doesn't know he tricked her into killing Sara yet and at this point the sudden hate just seems illogical.

On another note, Laurel was extremely annoying throughout the whole episode. I know she was on vertigo, but regardless people are saying she is gradually getting less annoying but I don't see it. She has no chemistry with the rest of the cast and for me, she has two modes; extremely detached from everyone around her and whiny, emotional bitch.

The distrust is from knowing that Malcolm knew about Oliver's identify all along and instead of informing her about it, manipulated her into thinking she was all alone in order to get her to run away with him. To Thea, him 'saving' her was his only redeeming quality at the time, so he's basically back to that guy who tried to murder thousands of people.

So when Thea leaves Verdant with the DJ we see Roy watch her go. Later in her apartment her and the DJ are doing it, and after they're done they start fighting. Then all of a sudden Roy busts into her apartment in full crime fighting gear to save the day.

Unless I'm missing something this means Roy followed his ex home and waited outside her door while she had sex with another guy.

Also Merlin came in right after Roy, so was he also waiting in the hallway while his daughter was having sex?

Am I just crazy or is that all really weird?

Either he's that creepy or we can imagine he really read the guy better than Thea and thought he was legitmanetly dangerous and not just obvious jealousy. Wasn't Merlin decked out in assassin gear too? Frigin' costumes.

My daughter started watching this from the beginning, and I watched the first three episodes with her. I now really miss the season 1 Oliver that just destroyed everyone that pissed him off. The show is still awesome and all, but I kind of wish something would happen that would send him back to the darker version. Unfortunately, that would probably only happen at this point if they killed Felicity or Thea, and I can't lose that kind of eye candy.

Season 1 Ollie would have owned current series Ollie, as well as giving Ra's al Ghul a tougher fight (probably not by much but enough not to make it look like Ra's was in a spar against one of the fodder members of the league). Tbh Roy seems to be on current Ollie's level.

Gotta say I loved Maseo's line in this episode.

"That wouldn't work even if you smeared grease on your face."

    Totally meta but hilarious.

    Thoughts on the episode:

I think Ra's has been hitting the pits a bit too much.

The end scene with the Atom was cool, hopefully we get to see some shrinking action soon.

And Waller is a straight cold-hearted bitch.

Anybody more knowledgeable than me want to tell me if this last episode's cliffhanger has any precedence in the comics?

Not for Green Arrow, but this is basically Ra's whole thing with Batman. He wants Batman to take over from him as the leader of the league of assassins (I don't think there's usually anything about him actually becoming Ra's al Ghul generally though) as he believes Batman is the only one worthy of replacing him (he has a lot of respect for Batman, calling him Detective etc.).

This ties in with Batman's whole relationship with Talia, Ra's favoured daughter and their son Damian Wayne.

Personally, I think as badass as Oliver is he's no Bruce Wayne, especially intelligence wise. I'm not a huge Batman fan either so take that for what it is. Not sure if Ra's offer will really pan out. Could be pretty cool if it did though, and it would actually be a way to draw a distinction between Green Arrow and Batman - Batman always turns down the offer.

anyone else thinking that this version of the Lazarus Pit transfer memories from one person to another rather than grant immortality?

I am trying to reconcile the idea of Ra's Al Ghul being something that is passed down with the current Ra's remembering meeting someone in the 1840s.

Then again I never understood why Ra's wanted a successor in the comics either.

My guess is he wants to retire and go spend the rest of eternity on hookers and blow while suckering his daughter and her husband into running the shadowy assassin stuff that long lost all interest to him.

Actually that would make for a really funny story.

Edit: He'd just leave standing instructions to his body guards that every time he drops dead from overexertion and overdose to just dump him in the tub of Lazarus juice he has in the bathroom and then he's good to go.

In the comic books repeated exposure to the Lazarus pit has extremely negative effects. Ra's has extreme tolerance for it but even he is affected - he's slowly being driven more and more insane, and eventually it will cease to work effectively for him. Hence why he realises he needs a successor.

Actually any exposure to the Lazarus Pitt is generally pretty awful for your mental state - see Jason Todd, Clayface or Hush. So if that's what Oliver used after his "death" (which I hope it was, rather than his "will to live" or whatever) we might expect to see some repercussions from that.

Like I know she won't die, but really I was kinda hoping Merlyn would just end Laurel there, she's annoying as fuck right now and literally should be dead at least 6 times in the last 2 episodes.

And anytime Katrina Law is onscreen is a good time.
