Thea's arrow voice was adorable <-- which is a bad thing in this instance.

They really need to get her a voice masker that makes her a little less toothless when she's attempting to shout at people.

I did a double take at Lance's involvement. It seems to be contrary to all the shit he loves to spout off, I mean, I know he worked with arrow but this is a fucking jump.

Oh, and why didn't 'The green arrow' cover his face better in that video monologue. He's really stopped trying at this point.

 

I watch a lot of this show but most of the time I feel like I am forcing myself. We rarely see the Arrow it mostly these villains hitting close to home. There is rarely a moment where there is just a bad guy who needs to be stopped. It feels like every single villain we bump into knows Oliver's identity who he works with and all sorts of stuff. Also there is just so much fucking drama and its so tedious.

To be honest I kind of hate Felicity as a character she seems annoying and whiny. Really wish Sara was the love interest.

2nd season was really a drag hoping the 4th is going to pick things up or I am just going to stop watching.

 

Er, really? I think Season 2 was easily the best one so far

 

I felt like it was literally all drama.

 

Was thinking the same thing during the broadcast about his identity. Maybe their building up to him operating openly as the Green Arrow? Also thought it was pretty badly written.

Overall though, I thought the episode was fine. Not fantastic, but not bad either.

Anybody else catch the Green Lantern hint?

During the flashback to the bar where Oliver and Amanda meet, the camera pans over a bomber jacket with the name Jordan on it. It was a cool shoutout.

 

I kind of get the feeling that's what the show is . . . a drama crammed into a comicbook world.

 

Well obviously, no matter how high quality it is compared to their normal drek this is still a show aired on the CW network.

 

LOL.

Honestly, it's better than quite a few shows on the normal networks. it's just sometimes it's a bit over-dramatized. Wouldn't be bad if that was the genre, but I get the feeling after a few years it's not.

 

So has Felicity become less annoying in this episode?

 

Compared to last season, I definitely thought so. 'Bored as fuck' is a much better look on her than 'waah love angst'. Let's see if this is maintained, though. I doubt it, these writers don't exactly have a good track record when it comes to her.

 

The thing Im worried about is if Felicity bosses it at the CEO role with no experience what so ever.

Also, Diggle what he knows about HIVE a secret is going to backfire, I can see it.

 

A much better season premiere than Flash. The Olicty was so cute and domesticated Ollie seemed like such a cool dude. Adorkable, really.

I actually, surprisingly, didn't mind Laurel this episode. Still annoys me when she's fighting, but she definitely seems less, I dunno, Laurel, if that makes sense. Way better than Iris, at least.

Team Arrow seemed really amateurish and lucky to me. Not a skilled unit, just lucky the bad guys are horrendous shots and inexplicably freeze up when one of the heroes is down and defenceless. Thea was like a little kid, cool this and awesome that. Out of control too, thought she was gonna kill that henchman, and she was smiling while beating him at that.

Think Diggle needs to let it go it go man. Also needs to make up his mind, Ollie and he were soldiers and comrades last season but now Ollie's not a soldier and doesn't understand. Whatevs. Way harsh as well saying that Ollie can't love. If anything, he loves too much.

Two final things. One, as stated Ollie has pretty much given up on a secret identity. That was the worst shot video, and it was jarring hearing him speak in Arrow voice on TV and then cutting back to him speaking in normal voice as he's recording. Also, he's clearly the original Arrow.

Finally, Damian Darhk was great - Neal McDonough always plays a great bad guy - but where was Malcolm Merlyn?

 

Copying from the Flash thread, just like with FLash, one of the problems I have is Oliver's variance in skill. Some weeks, he is unstoppable, other weeks, not so much. After all, he was in line to be the next Raz. I'd think he would at least have lasted a few more seconds with Damien.

 

This one's a bit more realistic. Apart from running, he probably hasn't done any serious training since he went domestic. So his quick loss to Damian can be chalked up to rust.

 

Will the show finally rebound in quality, hopefully, but I doubt it.

 

Everyone keeping secrets this season from Oliver, going to end badly from all fronts, then they will get defensive in a hypocritical way. Ha.

I see that Oliie has completely given up on his Arrow voice.

I wonder if when Ollie's on TV making his announcement if anybody will do a double take and be like, "wow, he sure looks similar to the Green Arrow."

 

So it looks like Oliver and Barry have swapped policies on dealing with their enemies.

 

So Sara needs to kill Thea to be "normal", yeah, Olivers going to be pissed.
