I just thought he was pissed Oliver didn't show, I probably would be in that situation too, and not that knowledgeable of the comic verse so I didnt know about the Blood name.

I can see where your coming from I'm not that big into DC comics either(outside of Nightwing) but he was one of the villains in the Teen Titans cartoon so I knew he was going to be fake from the get go.

Thought this was a good episode. Again, I'm glad they're not drawing things out too much. In this case Sarah keeping her survival from her family, more specifically her father.

The League of Assassins were cool. A few references dropped: Ra's al Ghul himself again, several times, as well as Talia. Unless I missed something or I'm forgetting something, it's still unclear whether Merlyn was working to destroy the Glades on the orders of the League or whether he was on his own. If they were planning on destroying the Glades and Merlyn was just their instrument, then they could be the major antagonists later on still.

Professor Ivo made a short appearance, but the scenes from the past in this were focused more on what happened to Sarah than anything so who knows what his deal is.

Yeah, I really appreciated that Sarah revealed herself to her father this episode. The writers have done a very good job of handling her arc overall, really. I'm just interested, though, in what the end means for her character arc. Is she just going to be gone for a few episodes?

I also appreciate Ollie finally opening up to Diggle about the island at the end. It's about damn time, and this was a good reason to jump-start that.

EDIT: Well, gone outside of the flashback scenes.

So I just started watching this and while I do like it holy shit I can't get over how much the guy who plays Ollie looks like the eternal child rapist Garret Dillahunt. It's driving me crazy.

It wouldn't surprise me if the League ended up being the ones who killed Merlyn's wife and then pushed him along the path of wanting to destroy the Glades.

For some reason, I didn't think Merlyn was dead until this episode.

Don't remember why I had that impression.

Only came here for one reason - to comment on what was going through my head the entire episode:

Damn, Sarah is WAY hotter than Laurel.

With Lance there to be Arrow's ally and point him to cases and Sarah as the ass-kicking Black Canary, Laurel is really redundant.

All she does is drag down the scenes she's in. Kill her off and put an end to her pity party.

Probably the weakest episode of the season and it was still pretty good.

On an unrelated note does anybody get the feeling that DC is way more invested into this show than they were into the first couple years of Smallville.

    HIVE huh? Neat.

Deadshot was cool enough, even if he didn't, you know, shoot anyone. I'd like it if they could soft retcon that tattoo thing he had going on before (too much like Zsasz in my opinion), but they didn't reference it here so maybe they already are.

That super soldier serum the Japanese were working on could be a gateway into the appearance of superpowers later.

Apparently in the comics, Miracle is a proto-Venom, so it looks like that's actually what Brother Blood was injecting. Well, that or Miracle itself.

I have some bias because Dig is one of my favorite characters and this was a Dig-heavy episode, but I thought this was great. Some things I learned later - that Miracle thing, and some stuff about HIVE - made me like it even more. This show continues to impress.

I liked the Breaking Bad reference, I expect it to be common in TV when ever the occasion arises.

Liked Deadshot in this episode, I think he was portrayed well, very professional with his own honor, although rarely recognized.

Can a fan of the comics tell me if they staying pretty true to the back story? Like how ripped from the comics are the island scenes?

He always ends up stranded on an island but he's normally there alone and this is the only version I can think of where both his parents didn't die at the same time.

They're really playing at this Ollie/Felicity kick. They best pay up.

That line about not having female friends sent me into fits. Seriously, if you're not his mom or sister, you're romantically involved with Oliver.
