Alright here's the situation.



I bought that camera. A Sony HDR SR10

Great camera, good quality video. Small snafu, can't capture video to edit. The format its recorded in, AVCHD, is not supported by premiere.

It would be cool if I owned a gay mac and had final cut but not premiere because adobe's being gay. And yes i have premier pro cs3. That's the latest one I believe.

The software that the camera comes with will only capture the video into a readable format for premiere if I reduce the image quality to 720p which is not the reason I bought a full HD 1080 camera.

And yes I've tried Sony vegas, it just ain't working for some reason. I've called up Sony to get troubleshooting.They don't know why.

Good old Premiere, eh. Still causing headaches.

Premiere doesn't natively support AVC-HD. In this case, I think what you need is a 3rd party plugin: MainConcepts MPEG Pro HD 3. It isn't cheap.

Yeah I've seen the list, but I guess I'll give one of the other ones a shot. I just hope they take the 5.1 surround sound as well...
