Kai survived till endgame because he's insisted on doing this shit so many times that we got over the insta lynch phase and into the "lynch him if we have no scumreads" phase. It's a bad path to walk.

Your Newcomb read does matter. You cannot know you will not be able to sway someone unless you try, and practicing the ability will make it stronger. Further, disagreeing with a consensus and not discussing it does not absolve you should you turn out to be correct.

What is your real read on Newcomb, Jari?

To everyone else: This feels like Newcomb's town game. I'm kinda still triggered though, because the last time I said those words he turned out to be scum. Plus the fact that he said something along the lines of "my town game is much writer than my scum game and here's why" makes me a little leery.

I'd take a closer look at him of he reaches endgame.

When I talk about not being mad if I lose to Von here, that's me kind of preemptiely trying to soften the internal blow if he does happen to be a wolf. I think he's town. I've talked about why. In a game where we were doing better or had longer deadlines for that read to be more certain, it would be, but this is the game we're in. Sometimes you just gotta roll the hard eight.

Why do you think he's town? Von, I mean.

 

I've never been able to read Von as easily as others have (seriously y'all are able to clear him or wagon him d1 based on your reads), but he's been putting in more effort at finding scum, and his reads make much more sense than what I remember from his scum game.

Also, the fact that he is almost definitely unaligned with my two current scum reads helps too.
