I take this back. Looking at the individual vote counts, there was a spacer vote between both pairs of you 3, they just moved their vote before deadline which leaves you 3 next to each other

What would it mean if Citrus couldn't explain why he'd left you out, Q?

I agree there's definitely scum in this crowd. As in, they weren't all on Sloth, but Mala rolled in because it isn't a binary matter (as it was a town-town breakdown, so scum just want to scatter)

I quite liked the Titus wagon, and still do, and thought it was courageous and a slight town lean (whether Titus is town or scum - there was a real chance of her being lynched; and I don't subscribe to scum aim for "better-skilled" players over simple expediency.

Unaligned trio #1: Zenzao isn't the type to put name two partners in a post like this, so Zenzao/Riley/Atum are not all scum.

Grouped you 3 up there for not being on the lynch wagon on either day. It's a slight scum-tell because

    1) scum try to avoid all being on a wagon together/the more there are on one person the more likely someone's vote looks bad

    2) both lynches were town, scum look good when they avoid lynching town (which is easier for them theoretically as they know everyone's alignments)

Like I'd be genuinely shocked if Riley AND Atum AND you are all town. But I'm pretty confident in there being scum in Riley/Atum

Something unrelated but important: if Riley flips scum, [redacted]. There's a good reason not to say this out loud, but if Riley does flip scum I'm almost positive on one other scum to the point where it's worth unredacting that even with Riddler coming into play.

Potentially sinister. As in, several conspiracy theories come to mind, which I'm sure you all can guess.

In a vacuum though, it's better to lynch a better-skilled town as scum. Both to get rid of them and to save easier mislynches for later

Agree with your reasoning, though that's just a less strict version of Riley/Atum aren't both scum lol

    I agree with this 100%.

    I cannot. Explain?

Wait, was Mala also not on the Sloth wagon? She wasn't in my notes, damn.

Good thing everyone knows her role already

Unaligned trio #2: Riley asking one of his partners whether one of his other partners being town would make someone else scum? Not likely.

Citrus, you could pick up some cheap town points by answering the questions Atum refused to. Specifically these:

I'll take away the cheap town points part by ignoring the first question.

For fluffiness, I thought he did respond when you responded. Like didn't you kinda-sorta-goad him into pushing harder on you, and then he responded all puzzled? Do you have the posts linkable/listed?

I think I'm starting to lean apathetic scum. There are reasons why I can buy apathetic town, but not by this late in D3. Mostly because he's never been significantly wagoned. My read is kinda biased towards town from early drama

I wouldn't mind flash-wagoning him to see how he reacts tbh

About the Q question I think it was redundant. Yes I think Q is town.

Still reading the rest of the thread but may not make it back on tonight.

Mathblade, should you get through the wagon stuff thoughts on what I've said? Anything stick out to you in terms of the wagons while all listed together?

I also agree on unaligned trio #2

---------- Post automerged at 01:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:44 AM ----------

    Unaligned trio #3: Kento Kraitos / Zenzao / Q?

---------- Post automerged at 01:46 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:45 AM ----------

3 scum voting in a row is less likely then 0 scum on a town mislynch wagon, right?

    I'll allow it (for now).

The Case Against Rubicon, Part I and my response

He replied to the second half only, where I pointed out a post where I'd scumhunted Atum. He said he was going to look at it, but in his next post about me, nothing seems to have come of it.

The Case Against Rubicon, Part II and my response.

He's posted since (and put me as scum in another read list) but hasn't responded to anything I said. My response was actually calling him out so I expected some kind of response.

    ---------- Post automerged 12-29-2014 at 12:01 AM ---------- Previous post was 12-28-2014 at 11:59 PM ----------

I could see this, especially with Q on the end of the wagon. Kento is probably town in his own right, though.

I should sign off now too, it's midnight.

Glanced through. I can understand not answering in-between the two case posts as the second seems like a continuation of the first.

Didn't spend too much time looking, but didn't see a response back from him. Which looks scummy imo? You'd think if he was that set on thinking you were scum for that many reasons, he'd care to keep pushing if you refute any, vs. just playing it out as a weak attempt at building a wagon on you? Especially if he just drops it afterwards because either A) he didn't acknowledge you were right if he agreed he was wrong and B) you'd expect someone who was scum to disagree with you calling them scum, so it's super dumb to do so and then just...drop it?

If he couldn't explain why he had me off his list then he might have been intentionally leaving me off so as to avoid talking about me in a positive light (note the scum point on me earlier), thus helping color me badly/setting himself up to jump on me later on. It could also show that he is using out of thread knowledge to try and set it up favorably for himself later on (one scum in that group, perhaps one likely to die, but not if he includes me - of course, requiring a not-me person thinking I'm scum), and so on.
Could also show a flow of logic not explained here [which indeed it did] which is broken because of out of thread knowledge [say, Riddler searching for scum].

Really, did these need to be articulated? If someone can't explain themselves (adequately) there are invariably many sinister exlanations (these are just off the top of my head - I didn't think these through when I asked him, just saw the inconsistency and posted it).

---------- Post automerged at 04:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:23 AM ----------

Of course. But leaving aside the fact that it's difficult to judge better or worse players, and this is incredibly dependent on other factors (I won't articulate my own thoughts here, for obvious reasons), I personally play as scum without thought to who I'm lynching, and instead focus on the why. There's always got to be a line of explanation, an understandable setup, and, basically, a focus on 'realism' first and foremost (where realism is 'this is who I would lynch as town').
I think extending it another stage and thinking about targetting "better" players over another is not only distracting, but also silly, and more liable to get one caught out for "cute" play. The time for those moves is at night, not when all the town can second guess your ideas.
