Saw it tonight. Was pretty awesome. Hathaway did a creditable job as Catwoman. Didn't inspire the level of audience reaction I witnessed in Avengers, and focused more on the motivations of the characters than the action, but the film didn't suffer for it.

Batman has a new competitor for 'raspiest' voice though.

I watched all 3 movies in a row, with 3 starting at 12:05, long story short, movie was awesome and I loved how everything was well forshadowed. Do not look at these spoilers unless you've seen the movie or you're a masochist...
I do kinda hate my friend a bit for pointing out the scar on Tate's back and mentioning that she was Talia since that did kinda ruin the big reveal, although you would have to be retarded to not figure out she was going to betray him. Although I do love how Nolan fucked with the people that knew the batman comics, specifically Bane's origin, since he used that expecation to fuck with people at the end. Also, holy shit he actually went through with breaking Batman's back.

I admit, those spoiler tag is really tempting, mishie. Congratulations.

Heh, I'm going to see it this midnight. Three movies in a row, the whole Batman trilogy, will be played in my city. I have very high expectations for this movie, hopefully it's all worth it.

    EDIT: /relevant

This one is good too - The Dark Knight & 60's Robin or what would happen if Nolan decided to have Robin in his films. ;)

And don't read comment section, because people started spoiling TDKR already. I wonder if I will be lucky enough to not know everything that happens in it before I have a chance to actually watch it myself.

    SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

    I liked it.

    SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

Wasn't expecting the reveal of JGL or MC at all.

Bane was great, Anne Hathaway was fine, Matthew Modine was boring. Gary Oldman kicked all of the asses.

I thought it was overhyped. The movie was far from terrible, but people's expectations were just too high.

Quick, disjointed thoughts before I go to bed are:

Most of my problems lie in the first half of the movie, especially the time skip. I find the idea of Bruce just sitting on his ass for eight years fairly out of character for the Batman I know.

I didn't like the idea of his body getting all worn and needing those enhancements -- it may be realistic, sure, but that's not always a good thing. Bruce's body can start failing him when he starts approaching fifty like in Miller's DKR or Batman Beyond.

The first half felt really badly paced overall. Some things just moved too quickly.

Catwoman used guns and killed people, which is out of character, and they seemed to forget she was "Cat"woman and not just a high-tech thief. Alfred just left Bruce, which he'd never do.

The romantic interest in Miranda Tate/Talia came out of nowhere to me.

During and after the sewer fight where Bane beats Batman, the movie improved considerably in my eyes. I liked the No Man's Land-inspired feel to the Bane-controlled Gotham. Bruce's end was appropriate too, I was satisfied with that -- until they revealed he was alive. Should've just let him die.
Overall, for now... 7.5-8/10. I think I'd rank it last within the trilogy, with Batman Begins in the middle. The lead up to the endgame and the climax were damn good, but it had to carry the weight of the rest of the movie behind it.

Maybe my mind will change on reflection later on.

Oh, and people fucking clapped in the theater. Not just in the end, but throughout. I always thought that was a stupid joke from foreigners, like how they joke that everyone in America eats nothing but cheeseburgers and has a gun. I mean, I never have people clap. But nope. They're right. People clap in the damn theaters here. I'm never going to a midnight showing again.

lol Clapping is very much a common occurrence here in India especially for the films by Indian superstars.

OT: I am going to the show today afternoon.

What he said. People clapped like 5-6 times. The same happened in Avengers.

I really liked it. I won't rate it now and I will prolly go watch it again. The reveals were great for me since I haven't read any comics, seen any other movies or the cartoons. The only batman exposure I have had is from this trilogy.

I figured out Bane was not the child who came out (and subsequently that he was not Ra's son).

The doctor guy in the pit told Wayne that something happened in the pit (which I can't really remember, a plague?) which caused Bane to take that mask, but we saw "Bane" climbing out and he is perfectly fine. So it had to be someone else. I was expecting this reveal and when at the end Tate was in the same room it became obvious.

Saw it and it was pretty epic. Nolan didn't disappoint and I will probably go see the movie again pretty soon.

    Hey, clapping is cool. Sometimes.

Didn't like this movie as much as the 2nd one. Thing is, apart from a few new characters, it feels exactly like the The Dark Knight, minus the awesome acting of Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart.

Nice Castiel. Didn't realize that. But yeah, like mishie said, it was pretty much obvious from the start that Miranda was gonna be involved with Bane somehow.

I figured out the Talia bit when we saw the scar, but was a big suspicious of another no-name character from the get-go. Also figured out the child wasn't Bane when we saw the flashback, looked to thin for Bane as I was pretty sure he got bulked up in the pit.

Blake was so-so, he seemed to act like he was perfect occasionally, bit of an idealist, and I was suprised he figured out Bruce's identity so easily tbh.

Catwoman betraying him and finding out his identity were some really good scenes.

I will admit to personally liking the scene with Gordon at the end where Bruce told him.

Rachel Dawes placement via photo was good, and the scene with Alfred, not pushed in your face, but enough to remind you. Alfred-Bruce scenes were great, and I honestly guessed the end scene would probably happen between them.

Almost forgot- my favorite scene was the Bane/Bruce one where Bruce turned the "then you have my permission to die" line back on him.

    Great film.

I need to see the movie again tomorrow night to come to my ultimate conclusions, but I will say this: there were great moments, but most of the film just didn't work at all. The plot was full of holes, there was a lot of character inconsistency, I called pretty much every plot twist, and the ending of the film (while somewhat thematically consistent) pissed me off to no end.

More on this later. As I said, I need to see the movie again to crystallize my thoughts.

People were making death threats at people who posted bad reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

I've got to say I loved the film.

I've always loved how Nolan made Batman, arguably the most believable superhero ever created, into an even more realistic character. He shapes comic lore in a way to get a wink knugde from readers watching the movie and then twist the expected story to be surprising even for them.

Michael Caine will forever in my head be Alfred. He is to Alfred what Connery is to Bond.

And the only way I approve of not actually killing Wayne off entirely is if he is never heard from again in the next set of movies. I want him to effectively be dead to the series but still out there bangin' Anne Hathaway and being awesome.

Overall highly entertaining and I plan on going to see it again in theaters.

There aren't going to be any more movies set in this universe. I think it's pretty much guaranteed that the next Batman movies (and there will inevitably be more) will be a separate continuity, like how Amazing Spider-Man is to the Sam Raimi movies. And of course they'll feature Bruce Wayne -- they probably wouldn't risk a Batman Beyond movie, as awesome as that'd be, or a movie with Dick Grayson filling in as Batman.
