    Well...he is a dangerous alien.

It doesn't matter that Clark Kent is a good person. From the outside, considering what just happened, he is horrifically dangerous.

The trailer isn't even from his perspective, and the people that are featured aren't crazy in having that opinion.

The trailer did nothing for me Gadot-wise. I was meh before, meh now. But good news is, it's 'meh' compared to "yay" for Affleck, not the super-bad meh.

    Luthor just...seems weird. We'll see.

Trailer was...decent, I suppose. Affleck as Bruce Wayne seemed to work from those clips, although I still find even the notion of a physical fight between Superman and Batman too dumb to take even remotely seriously, even if Batman had a Gundam made out of kryptonite.

I dunno, I kinda liked the imagery and the theme of the plot, heavy handed as it was, at least the premise of it, so, we'll see if they can pull it off convincingly.

I am mostly worried about Wonder Woman, tbh, don't really care if they make a shitty Batman or Superman movie. They could make this Batman movie and we all know they would never stop making Batman movies, whereas a shitty Wonder Woman here could have negative consequences for future movies.

It doesn't help that Gadot, at least so far, looks like a teenager dressing up as Wonder Woman. She looks as if she is 15, not to mention that while the costume is not as terrible as the bathing-suit she is traditionally wearing in comics, it is still not that much better. So, don't have much confidence in that part of the movie.

A friend's impression described Gal Gadot very nicely in the trailer: rat-face DYEL.

What I meant is it's not a theme I would use for a mainstream take on Superman. Then again, in my opinion the best possible movie for him would be an animation similar to The Incredibles that would be not ashamed of its classic symbols (red trunks, Truth, Justice, and the American Way etc.).

I'd love an animated movie inspired by the old Fleischer cartoons.

I rather like what they're doing with Batfleck. Gal Godot...too early to say. We need more footage, but she doesn't look too bad. Other than that, my main feeling on watching the trailer was a certain grim amusement at Martha's line about Clark not owing the Earth anything, showing that they're now two for two on screwing up Ma and Pa Kent.

Eh, I feel like that's a reasonable thing to say. Do the right thing because you want to, not because you feel like you have to. The latter just breeds resentment, especially seeing as there seems to be so much backlash against him.

Power = Responsibility is more Spider-Man's thing anyway, and Superman has a different backstory entirely.

The thing I'm most looking forward to is how BvS handles the "Superhumans have to answer to someone" question differently from Civil War. With Marvel, we have a precedent to look at in the comics, but I'm not sure this is a question DC has answered before.

I wouldn't be surprised if they come to different conclusions, either. The Marvel heroes are mostly, with the exception of Thor, normal people who have been raised up, while DC takes its inspirations from the pantheons and the idea of 'Old Gods Made Mortal.'

As for the trailer itself... it's funny looking at other forums and seeing how people's opinions have completely changed. As soon as Affleck was announced, the groaning of the fanboys was so loud you'd think Alderaan had exploded. Now, they're actively cheering for him (and rightly so - I think he'll be the best part of the movie).

I like the imagery, and they way they're playing it as heroes in the real world - which, to be fair, is the same way marvel played it, but they're jumping to the uncomfortable questions right away that Marvel really only touched on briefly with Iron Man 2 and is only now getting around to revisiting.

Bottom line is, I have hopes for this movie and franchise; more superheroes isn't a bad thing, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out. I think the big showdown is going to be epic and destructive and really drive home the point that these are gods playing in the mortal world.

I sort of liked the trailer. So at this point Batman had retired and then came back?

I was a bit disappointed with the suit though. It looks a bit too heavy. I also am not very sure about him fighting Superman in a physical fight. That would be really hard to pull off. Who is the villain?

Wonderwoman looks like a teenage girl....

The combat looked good. Batfleck looks like he's dangerous. The premise behind Superman and Batman being able to fight is that Superman holds back because he's intrinsically a good person.

But Superman just needs to yawn and Batfleck is disabled, but not dead. This premise is unworkable without Kryptonite or some other clutch. Or Superman being a moral pussy.

He's a boy scout. In the comics, at least. So that is why Batman banks on. "Deep down Clark is a good person. I'm not" Or something to that effect. I'm not sure how it'll work because Clark is obviously having a crisis of conscience. I couldn't judge it on this trailer but that might be what Batman uses to his advantage.

Thing is, Snyder didn't exactly make him a boy scout in MoS. He was 'the good guy', but dat neck snap was brutal. And the satellite at the end. The justification I could see for this is trying to convince Earthlings he's not gonna go nuclear on our planet, but if they do the 'I don't hurt people, this mah home' angle, then fuck this shit.

He can still be a boy scout. In TDKR he destroys Russian Tanks without a second thought but holds back against Bruce. I think the Zod thing was him protecting his adopted planet against an evil warlord who would murder the entire planet. He didn't seem to have a choice in that case. The satellite thing is more a bit of cheek from him as opposed to an angry warning to humans. He even delivers it in a rather humorous tone.

I see him probably going for that argument. I think what he will be like is he wants to be good and won't murder if he can avoid it (I think he'll see Batman as a nuisance more than a serious threat) because he's the most powerful being on the planet.

We won't know jack shit till the movie anyways.

I thought Gadot looked less soft but not muscular. I think there can be a suspension of belief because she's made from clay to be a beautiful demi-goddess who is also powered by magic so she can afford to not look strong. Although I would prefer it if she were muscular.

How would you like it Clark if Bruce shoved some glasses on your face??

The whole thing with Superman seemingly having his own troops is weird as hell.

Odds are it's a dream sequence, I think. Batman having a nightmare of what Superman could become.

Probably a clone made from Michael Shannon's Zod i.e. Bizzaro.

So that trailer spoils the whole movie. Highly recommend not watching it. I mean, I had read about the rumors but seeing it in action really sort of brings the hype down.

EDIT: Still hyped and it is a cool trailer but the mystery that was in the first trailer is lost completely.
