Prediction: this movie is gonna blow. (won't stop it from being a blockbuster though)

The guy in that video is really fucking annoying.

I can't wait for this movie. I hope it turns out better than Man of Steel, which was visually incredible, but was filled with plot holes and inconsistencies that made it hard for me to even enjoy it.

I am in the "very concerned but will still watch the premiere" corner.

Jesse Eisenberg is Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons is Alfred Pennyworth.

WB really didn't go for any safe options with their main casting choices.

EDIT: Funny joke about this casting.

WB Exec: "Damn it, Snyder, I told you I wanted Heisenberg!"

I wanted Sex Luthor, a older man with a lot of presence on the screen.

    Instead I got facebook dude.

    I am sad.

Man, if only Bryan Cranston was Lex Luthor... We can always dream, I suppose.

He'll make a wonderful Luthor. Perfect casting choice

So a Mark Zuckerberg-like Lex? I guess it fits his arrogance, and between him and Bruce it could be like a contrast between "new money" and "old money."

I kind of liked the idea of Bryan Cranston in the role more though, even though it turned out to be a false rumor. Something more like an older guy who clawed his way to the top, and is now staring down his own mortality and sudden irrelevance (or so he thinks anyway) in the face of Superman.

Honestly, I think Eisenberg is a sleeper.

I.e. I didn't expect to like Zombieland, but I did. I didn't expect to find Social Network decent, but I did. I think becuase of the huge fanbase and the huge amount of attention we'll see something come from Eisenberg that we can actually take a step back and appreciate.

Will it be the best Luthor ever? I don't know.
Will it be a good Luthor? I bet it will be.

Especially since the director knows what kind of audience he's pandering too and won't let Eisenberg do his usual routine for the sake of keeping it in tone with the rest of the film.

    Final thought: Wait and see.

I agree, much like Affleck, I'm at least willing to see what he does.
So long as he's not portrayed as a bumbling giggly moron in a toupee, I'll be reasonably satisfied.

I'm pretty sure 99% of the population is in that corner. And the other 1% is the elderly.

I can't help but remember the last superhero movie I saw Affleck in ...

When's the last time you heard someone say, 'Affleck was great in Daredevil?'

Never saw that one, but on the other hand, could it have been the director's or writer's fault that Daredevil sucked?

Possible.... there are two completely different cuts of Daredevil. Did anyone else realize Coolio was in that movie?

Leaving aside the various things aside from Affleck that are wrong with Daredevil (and the fact that I think it's rather under-rated, although by no means a great film), that was ten years ago. He's forged a much better reputation for himself since then. I haven't seen much of his his stuff, but Argo was a triumph for him both as an actor and a director, and Gone Baby, Gone is a great film too.

As for Eisenberg, I'm open to the idea. Again, not seen him in much, so the only obvious thing marking him down is the haircut, which is easily changed. I'm actually more concerned about Jeremy Irons as Alfred, not because I think he'll be bad, but because in a film featuring Batman, Superman, and introducing Wonder Woman to the big screen, Alfred has no business being so prominent that they cast such a (relatively) big name.

Once the movie comes out and the surprise plot twist of Alfred's alter ego being Wonder Woman is revealed, you'll regret those words.
