Battlefield: Heroes trailer

Yep, it's a free game from EA. I'm pretty sure there is a catch somewhere, but it's free and looks like a lot of fun.

Did EA just got better?

Even if the Game sucks, that trailer wins.

I loved Battlefield 2 Online. Now bringing out a system very similar (in combat) to Battlefield 2, except cut the system requirements in half, anyone can download it for free, whats not to love?

 

I gotta admit...this game looks more fun then Guild wars

 

I'm in the beta, its pretty fun. It is alot like tf2, except the Commando is like a spy/sniper, and it takes awhile to kill people. The planes are overpowered, they need to fix that. But so far the gameplay has been pretty awesome, not better than tf2 though.

 

Where did you find the beta?

 

At the moment for a beta key you need to stay up to date with their official website (here). They have little give-aways of beta keys. Some include being the first so many to respond to a new news article, checking out certain fan sites and so on. If you read under the news section it will tell you more. It shouldn't be much longer now though for it to go open-beta.

 

Afaik open beta is scheduled for November or December. The only way to get into the closed beta is to refresh the fucking page for 1 day every 2 weeks for 24 hrs then you have to go and solve a riddle within 2 mintues (otherwise all the keys will be gone)

Just got my beta key today, in the process of creating my heroes (up to a maximum four). Will edit later with game play review.

Edit:

The game is quite fun. I have mostly been playing as a Gunner, who have 150 health, use big machine guns, shotguns and a rocket launcher. Each class has a set of abilitys which you can upgrade or buy new ones for hero points, you get hero points by leveling up.

Game play has mostly being not serious, just some people messing around mostly. Swimming just about works, get stuck between stuff fairly often also.

 

Heh... the beta site is down... how sad.

 

I think it's back up now. Still no key for me though. /=

I was in the original beta but lost my password. I entered again and got that one then got my first account back. So that should work for whoever wants it.

 

I was emailed the key aprox. 2 months after I applied for one.

There was a update today, which might explain the issues its been having. It was supposed to only take 1 hour though.

OH YA: You guys know that it will only work if you log in at the website and hit the big yellow play button?
