Well, the previous reviewer made me want to read it. Granted I was in the mood for something Snape-related after seeing Taure mention Soul Play and discovering that the link to it didn't work.

Long story short, I guess this is where this deserves to be. The Recycling Bin. It's worth reading if you feel like a fairly standard abused!Harry gets sorted into Slytherin fic, but otherwise it's nothing special. 3/5 at best, and that's rounded up from a 2.5/5.

Snape is a bit... well, it usually bugs me to have Snape act so childish in his POV sections. I know there is at least some precedence for Snape acting childish in canon, but taken this far it can start to grate. At some points he's almost stupid, and Snape isn't that.

All that said, I only read the first 10 chapters. There are 51 total. I guess it's a bonus that it's complete, but from this point on I think I'm more likely to skim than read thoroughly.

Edit: On second thought, after skimmimg later chapters, maybe I should round down to 2... Really bleh

Well, I got through it. Some parts of it are truly shit, and the rest is at best average. The writer came dangerously close at times to turning this into slash, with 6th year male Avery trying repeatedly to rape Harry over a few weeks. Then there is the relationship between Harry and Snape, which at times is down right creepy with Snape coming across as if he's restraining himself from whipping out his dick.

Author notes hint that he's going to write a book for every year. Imo things can only get worse. Something tells me the author wont be able to resist, over 7 years, to have this story NOT become a slash story. The last chapter of this story, for instance, had a few lines where Harry essentially flirts with Draco (offering to kiss him) and the author makes it sound like this is normal for 11 year old kids.

2/5 for me because it wasn't as bad as I expected, but I would never read it again/look at any follow up stories, and most likely I will forget everything about this story within a week because it is mediocre in almost every aspect.

Since you asked about story with a Slytherin Harry and a fair, professional Snape, I have a series you might be interested in: They Shook Hands by Dethryl, who is currently publishing Year Five. He seems ready to hate Harry at first, but by the opening of Third Year, Potions is Harry's favourite subject. This series is far from just a rewrite of the books, as Harry is a true Slytherin, and many things change as a result of Harry simply becoming Draco's friend at Diagon Alley.
