I got through a little of it before I grew uninterested, but I loved how you were were putting in detail of your surroundings just try to improve on general quality I think. The beginning felt awkward to me so maybe work on that as well.

I generally like crossovers if they're done between two fairly similar universes (Ex: HP/DF), but unfortunately, most seem to be done by randomly mish-mashing crap from wildly different fandoms (Ex:HP/SG1).

This one, though, I thought was pretty good. Too early to rate yet, but I liked it. Now, if only the author would fucking update...

 

HP and SG1 have a common character: Merlin. He's real in both universes, although in SG1 he's really an Alteran/Ancient from the Pegasus Galaxy by the name of Moros. If the previous sentence massively spoiled the last few seasons of SG1, you shouldn't have read it.

 

It's been updated and I do like what I read. Sadly the update rate is anything but fast

The new update is pretty good. He breaks a couple laws of magic, and gets manipulated by Aurora. 3/5.

 

Actually I have updated twice since this thread died. Also, it might be worth mentioning that all chapters are now betaed.

My update rate is, admittedly, not very good, but as this is not the only fic I'm writing, I think it can be excused.

Ah... You probably shouldn't. The Path Chosen is the first fic I ever wrote and it's totally unbetaed... I'm not sure if you want to torture yourself with it. When I'm finished with its sequel (one chapter to go!), I will probably rewrite the whole thing and get somebody to beta it.

Ever since Shezza and Nuhnuh's Dresden/Potter crossovers, I have had a healthy appetite for this specific crossover genre. When I stumbled upon Beyond Grave Peril, I really didn't expect much ( reading the name Random Shinobi, I expected some Wuebo), but I was surprised by it's quality. It turned out to be a fun read with a nice plot.

There are a few mistakes here and there, but there is nothing earth shattering. There was some problem with the dialogue earlier (a little too mechanical), but he has improved on that. His characterization is solid on Potter. However, the best characterization is Aurora's. In the few lines she did have last chapter, the author her character down pretty well.

The only major complaint I have is Random's update rate. My advice for Random is to write MOAR!

I think it belongs in the Library, as there are some stories much worse than this, in there.

This is probably the third Hp/Dresden crossover fic that I've ever read, and while not deeply impressed with it, it was pretty good. I'll give it a 3.5/5 until I see more.
