As a Harmonian I found this book rofl. Read the entirety of it and all I can say is... Snape, Lily and Petunia being friends?

If she had gone with H/Hr. HBP might have been better. Hermoines not that bad. Better than the whore-who-loves-the-boy-who-lived.

The Antipodean Opaleye suggests to me that those may be legit, since the front cover of the deluxe edition has such a dragon on it.

well, im making good progress through the book(the images i have) Fake or not, it's not half bad. It's managing to keep my interest fairly well. And Ginny is barely mentioned (at least as far as i've gotten) but the few moments with her disgust me. Of course there are some moments where i'm just like "blah JKR(assuming it's real. . .)" but that happens in pretty much every book. . .
But i am pleased so far. . .

The Adult version and the Childerns versions are different stories. They share a lot of plot points but they are different. Different endings too

 

I don't see how they look "better". They are much smaller and few in number, which would make them a lot easier to fake. I'm sticking with the original scans.

those pics that nymphe linked to, the table of contents goes for 753 pages, when the last time i was at Borders they had signs like "only 494 to go!" or some number that was significantly less than 753.
unless of course im a dumb ass and it really said 753. . .

 

This book specifically. The adult version as a much darker outlook on things. And the ending is a bit less... childern friendly.

Re: adult vs children's versions - JKR's never done that before, and it would cause too much confusion to do this now, IMO

 

I've finished the version that's been going around and even if my first impression was that it's the real thing, I now have changed my mind. I'm almost certain it's a fake. Why?

1. I refuse to believe that JKR would name Harry's child 'Albus Severus', no matter what.

2. JKR said the fact that Harry has "Lily's eyes" will be very important and yet in this story it's only vaguely mentioned in a memory of Snape's.

3. The existence of these artifacts like "The Elder Wand" or that Stone that brings back the dead, something JKR herself said it's impossible.

4. The Fidelius Charm is not the same as how JKR explained it on her site.

5. JKR said somebody would return to teach at Hogwarts, probably in the epilog, yet all the epilog is is a HG RHr fluffest.

6. From what I've read we were supposed to see just how evil Voldemort really is, yet Voldemort in this story is just like you find him in fanfiction, even more rational and forgiving(if that can be said about him) than normal.

7. Snape knowing Lily and Petunia before Hogwarts, I simply find this hard to believe. Nothing in canon even suggests that, it's only use here is to explain Snape's 'love' for Lily, something which I don't believe either.

8. Good and martyr!Snape, Snape might not be completely on Voldemort's side, but I don't believe he's that good either. Snape is only for himself, I think.

I'm sure I can bring more of them, but I think that's enough. Overall It was a pretty good piece of fanfiction, it started out strong but it was very boring in the middle, if it was a regular fanfiction I think I might have dropped it here, the ending was ok I guess, If you can deal with the Harry/Dumbledore talk in the land between life and death, which by the way is a fanfiction trademark.

 

It's definitely a possibility but don't you think this information would be a little more widely advertised than it has been?
when you preorder the book you don't get to choose between adult and children, when you go to the book store there is nothing indicating two different versions, which if there are two versions then why not let everyone know ahead of time? to prevent them from ordering something they don't want?

but then again it is possible that there are two versions we'll see in a few days i suppose.
