This is the version libraries have been receiving for a while now in sealed boxes. The person who leak the book has to be someone who worked in a library distribution center.

it must be a fake. if it isn't then Rowling wrote a lame book. it is the last book, it must be much better than the one we read.

 

Didn't we expect a lot more from Book 6 as well? I'm not saying the leak is necessarily real, just reminding you that JKR knows how to disappoint.

 

imagine... if the leak was actually better than the real book

That's what I'm fearing, and that's why I hope the leak is not a fake.

On the other hand, if the leak is fake, and the real book is good, then we will have read two good books.

I'm sure that keeping the books hidden is the first thing the lucky owner did!

 

Printing 120 fake copies and then sending them out early isn't the most difficult thing to do if you're Scholastic. What better way to create a media buzz for the upcoming book than to engineer a 'leak' scandal a week before release.

God I hope the leak is a fake.

To be honest, I really couldn't give two shits about the 7th book. J.K fell off after GOF, and the books just started going downhill. I'm far more excited about the sequel to Bungle in the Jungle than I am about the 7th book.

Regardless of the DH ending, a new canon book ensures at least a few decent fics in the coming years.

 

Sequel to Bungle is good so far, only one chapter is written but it's real good, idk when it will be posted though.

The NY times article has convinced me, although I still have trouble believing that JKR would write some of the things she did in.

99% sure that they're real, but I can't be certain until I get the actual book.

 

According to the publishers, the NY Times and the Baltimore Sun may have reviewed the fake book. But then, JK is pissed that they published purported spoilers, so it's possible that it's real. Keep an eye on the LJ community, its_a_fake, because they will probably have a confirmation as soon as it comes out in Australia or England.

So.. the carpet!book leak has been confirmed by Its_a_fake. According to the mod, she saw the book herself, and the chapter titles and Albus Severus are real. I sort of believe her, because she organized the community set on proving that it's fake. So either it's a JK hoax (unlikely), the mod is lying (I don't think she is), or it's true.

All I can say is that Albus Severus makes baby Jesus cry.
