I found this interesting apparently the same man who created the Pirates of the Caribbean movies has recently agreed to start work on Bioshock the movie.

I think if this doesn't turn out like the Halo movie idea then this could be fucking epic.

 

Agreed especially if they start hurling lighting balls around.

 

If the game isn't mangled in the translation, it has the makings on an epic movie.

I fail to see why studios bother with video games translated into movie form. Out of the ten adaptations I can think of off the top of my head, the best one was Silent Hill, and that was just mediocre, and the only one that actually made decent coin.

The presentation of Bioshock doesn't really lend itself to film form, in any event. With most of its themes and philosophical debates conveyed through voice recordings, just doesn't seem like a good fit. Especially considering the amount of money that would have to be spent on underwater scenes, which are always uber-expensive.
