Based on @Skeletaure's idea, we will like to have little mini-writing competitions in the future.

When we do bitesize writing competitions, each small prompt will have around five days for everyone to write a scene (or even just a sentence). During the weekend, we will compare and review each others entries. None of these prompts should take more than 500 words to write.

Specific parts of Diagon Alley
The aftermath of a mispronounced spell
Forbidden forest

Character descriptions
Susan Bones’ tits
Harry from Voldemort’s POV

Dialogue
Opening line of dialogue to a story.
Short dialogue with minimal use of tags and beats, using voice to determine speaker
Meet cute with love interest

Exposition
Learning a new spell
Muggle studies class
School Excursion

Cumulative sentences
Alliterating sentences

Please suggest your own ideas here. Once we get a good selection, we can vote for 5-6 of our favorites (likely one from each category) to have some bitesize competitions.

 

I can't think of a new classification. Here are some of my ideas for the existing categories:

Scene setting
Entrance traditions (train/boat/etc.) at other magical schools
Wizarding underground (crime groups - who are they? what are they doing? how are they subverted by dark wizards?)

Character descriptions
People at the Quidditch cup/Triwizard tournament - pick a subsection to have the PoV visit
Members of Order of the Phoenix, especially those killed off in the first war.
