Third Black Lagoon Anime Project Confirmed
    posted on 2008-07-16 10:52 EDT
Announcement made on cover of first Black Lagoon novel adaptation

The wraparound jacket band on Gen Urobuchi's novel adaptation of Rei Hiroe's Black Lagoon adventure manga has confirmed that a third anime project has been green-lit for production. The story revolves around a typical Japanese businessman who gets caught up in the escapades of modern-day pirate mercenaries off the Asian shores.

Some Japanese members might browse through some Japanese sites to confirm or deny the announcement.

So wait three volumes of Black Lagoon came out and then the whole thing just stopped. So is this the continuation, starting from episode 13, or is this something new?

Fantastic news. I'm glad that someone made the decision to not produce filler episodes. Instead they waited a few years for Hiroe to release another 20+ chapters of manga.

According to Wikipedia, it's being created by the same director and production studio who did the first two seasons. Hopefully the Wiki entry isn't lying. Sunao Katabuchi and Studio Madhouse have done a decent job so far.

    I'm looking forward to this.

Fucking awesome. Is it still going to follow the manga, or are they just going to make shit up?

Probably, especially considering that the current arc feels as though it is coming to its conclusion soon.

Err, I started to read BL, but I stopped after the Episode with the Maid with grenades.

Does it get any better than that? I'm not sure I want to go any farther if it doesn't.

That depends on you. Entirely on you. The story had weaker plots than the Maid (the Nazi conspiracy) but I liked most of it.

I don't know the manga that much and preferred the anime. I suggest you start watching it, especially the Second Barrage.
