A decent story, it is the author's attempt to fit an original story into the canon timeline. Takes place during PoA.

 

Haven't read this yet but tbh I don't see this being accepted into the library- why?

For two main reasons-

Not Harry Centric, which is a must for a lot of people here
and
It hasn't been updated in 3 years and in hiatus.

Anyways, while I haven't read this yet, I plan on doing so just out of curiosity and because I sort of like his other works. I won't read it until he begins updating it again though.

 

S'TarKan's update speed is *maddening.* Great ideas, and the writing style is very good even at its worst. "Nightmares of Futures Past" is one of my favorites, and it would be a shoo-in for the DLP library if it wasn't H/G. I dislike Ginny on principle - she was just someone who made a series of stupid mistakes and needed to be rescued for five books, then she was Absolutely Perfect for Harry all of a sudden. I really resent the way JKR did the pairing. In "Nightmares," she's developed as a person, and I can accept (if not really like) her. I am among the throng who wish S'TarKan didn't have a Real Life, and only wrote for us.

 

I'm the other member who can occasionally stomach a ginny pairing, and I agree that He should drop out of real life and write for us full time. The way he writes her she's nearly an acceptable option (If a poor one)

The story posted is alright. The non-Harry centric irks me, but it's tolerable if your in the mood for it. I didn't read the whole thing, so i'm not going to rate it, but unofficially it's a 3- 3.5ish fic. The author has done better work.

About the Blackwand story. I love it. It's intelligent, unpredictable, and intense. The hero and his friends are engaging and complex. I love *all* the various plot threads S'Tar'Kan has going. The framework is fresh. There are a lot of nifty ideas.
That this story looks abandoned is a loss to all of us.

Aww damnit! Here I thought it might have updated.

I loved this fic. Despite being non Harry-centric, it is well written, and Annalise is adorably tsundere. I really do wish he'd write more of this.

 

I like Blackwand - it's one of the best attempts I've seen at weaving good OCs into the HP universe.

It's damn good, and it's not even his best work. Team 8 (Naruto) is fucking magnificent, and NoFP is easily one of the best H/G stories out there currently. It honestly reminds me of some of the stuff back from the days of GryffindorTower before OotP was released.

I don't think Blackwand belongs in the library here, though. As was mentioned above, it's all but abandoned at the moment - Matthew has stated that it's officially on hiatus until NoFP is finished. As NoFP is currently in Harry's third year, and those three years total about 340k words - it's not going to be over any time soon.

It's a good read though, if you don't mind unfinished stories or just want to bide the time for a couple of hours.
