Seems about par for the course to me given the bullshit factor involved. Like the whole part about Mayuri reading about the abilities of the soul king's left and right arms in a book in some random library. Da fuck was up with that shit?

And of course not to mention Mayuri completely changing his bankai. I get he's a scientific genius and all, but bankai is supposed to be connected with the soul, the only way one's bankai should change is if something like what happened with Ichigo happens.

 

Shunsui's bankai is revealed though as always we will need to wait for the next chapter to actually learn what it does. Since till now only bankai that I would call a disappointment was Unohana's, I expect it to do something cool, if overpowered.

 

Shunsui has gone Bankai. Ban Kai. C'mon, Captain Commander, prove you deserve that title!

 

As I no longer can have Ukitake being a badass, I've mostly just been waiting for Kyoraku, Urahara and Shinji to go bankai, possibly Yoruichi too. At least with the 4 years of constant, repeated disappointment, Kubo will finally give me something I've been waiting an eternity for.

 

Still seems weird that the Captain Commander is dealing with not only a lackey of Bachs, but not even his top lackey. I thought Shunsui would at least have gotten to fight Haschwald(even if he lost).

 

I predict that Shinji will go bankai with "Thor". Urahara may too, but that depends on what are Kubo's plans for him. I will be surprised if we even get Yoruichi's shikai since up to this point she never used or even showed (unless I'm forgetting something) her zanpakuto. Which is rather weird.

It's little disappointing we will probably not see Ukitake's bankai (unless there is a twist), but it's Aizen's that I would really like to be revealed. The only way it could probably top his illusions would be making them real within a certain radius or something like that.

 

I'm kind of sad we aren't likely to get villain Aizen again.

 

That bankai is so hax. I'm not understanding how its working -at all-. It seems like its little more than wish fulfillment at this point. What Shunsui wants, it happens. No chance to block or nothing. In that regard, its a pretty pisspoor battle, but god damn if Shunsui isn't looking like a badass right now because of it.

 

From the sound of it Shunsui is about to die too, though, which makes it kinda lame. Like, youre gonna go around being captain-commander and all youve got is a suicide tech? I really hope it doesn't end up that way.

Yamamoto had super fire everywhere and a zombie army and shit. Shunsui has destiny bond.

 

Well I suppose Kubo could be planning to kill the 'Old Guard' so to speak and let the next generation take over in the end.

 

The thing about that is, Kishimoto at least made the "new guard" stronger or equal as the old guard as the story progressed. Kubo hasn't done that at all. All the lieutenants can't even hope to replace their captains in the next 1000 years.

And as far as Captain Commander, i don't see anyone being -that- much stronger than Shunsui that they can realistically take his place, unless Ichigo gives up being a human and takes it which i do not see at all.

 

Oh well. Either way I just assume wait for the next chapter maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised and Kyoraku won't die.

 

Honestly I'm not sure how much I like the quincies.... Atleast all the other characters in the story have had some sort of format in how their powers work. Quincies seem to be able to use all their powers all the time, whenever they want. Im not sure how its possible for them to beat the big bad unless they sick Aizen on him. I liked this last chapter a little bit more as it seems like we are finally getting to some of the missing zanbato issues...

I really really really enjoyed Mayuri fight just because the way he kept insulting the hand was great.... and watching him fight was way more interesting then any of the other fights so far. Zaraki was a let down... felt like he should have come in stronger considering they killed another captain just for him to become stronger...

 

This arc is the equivalent to the Shinobi Wars in Naruto. It's a wankfest to see the abilities of all the captains in Bleach. Personally I don't see a problem with anything so far actually I'd say it's a nice change because it seems like some Shinigami are actually staying down. The only Quincy's that matter anyway are Uryu, Hashwalth, and Bach. Everyone else is fodder for Bankai.

 

Oh man, Kisuke trolling made me laugh pretty hard. Best chapter in a year.

It's telling how hard Bleach has fallen off with no posts in this thread in three months. At least Naruto managed to generate a massive amount of discussion, people just got bored of Bleach.
