I'm currently in the process of planning a Bloodborne/Naruto fusion. It works better than you'd think. Honest. (Also I accidentally beat my first run without killing three bosses because I'm an idiot ffffffffff-)

EDIT: Wow. Actually found a bug. In that little corner near the bottom of the Healing Church Workshop, with the Cthulhu-faced fucker guarding the fire gem bloodstones, there's an alleyway with no floor. It's just wide enough for you to roll into so I figured it was some secret path with an item at the end of it. Nope. Just fell through the map for a solid 30 seconds before I went splat.

Hah, I've been agonizing over a HP/Bb crossover for ages too. Wand instead of gun etc.

Just a thought experiment tbh, haven't written anything for a long time. I'm mostly fascinated with the idea of telling a story with BB's depth in the same incredibly vague way.

I'm not sure it could work though. It'll essentially be a series of events that lead into each other that have the reader constantly asking themselves 'what the actual fuck is going on?'

You know, like the game, lol.

Dunno if that will translate as well to word without the incredibly fun game around it. You should be able to pull it off though.

I dunno how far you intend to adapt the lore, but the Moon Presence replacing the Juubi in the Moon with Madara/ Oro calling it down to instigate a 'hunt' in an attempt to ascend.

Chakra could replace blood, ninja having 'stolen' it from the 'old ones' (kaguya, sage etc). The hunt causes anyone with chakra to steadily turn into beasts etc. Exceptions because 'reasons' (Jinchuuriki?).

Yeah, actually, it kind of works scarily well.

I read this to help understand the lore a couple weeks ago. There's probably better sources available by now though.

I'll probably be even more enamored by that than WiR, lol. Unless you add guns or give him one of the Str wpns (if you give him any at all). Then i cri.

You got a couple bits right, but others are slightly different. Or hella different. It's been pretty fun putting it all together thus far. I've got a few people with more/different knowledge of the lore than myself helping me out with the brainstorming, which is necessary 'cause I'm such a scrub. Also:

I started another reread of Tuebor this morning. You'd have at least one fan if you decided to pick it back up.

    pls

    Hah, kind of ridiculously flattering...

The more I think about it, the more ways I can think of it working...

Oro taking the role of the healing church, introducing 'healing blood' from old one corpse. Worshipped by masses, but still experimenting on ppl in the shadows...

This will be what my mind churns out for weeks now. Thanks a lot! lol.

Re: Tuebor, stopped writing Naruto stuff when I started hating where the series was going :-/

Do weapons just scale better in their favored skill at higher levels?

The scaling increases as you level your weapons.
Look at the weapons, they tell you how they'll scale. They don't stay the same throughout in terms of ratios.

Yes. Letter scaling is derived from point scaling, so even if the letter of the scaling stays the same you're actually getting more damage out of it at higher levels. Eventually the letter will change as well when it hits a new threshold.

Thanks. That's different than the other souls games, correct? I never played them. I like the mechanic, if only because it makes sense. A better fortified weapon is going to be more dangerous, specifically in its choice damage dynamic.

The scaling improves dramatically as you level up the weapons.

All Souls games (and this) have had the same weapon upgrade system, with increased base damage and scaling, but the increase in scaling is quite dramatic in Bloodborne.

Question: I've noticed arcane scaling on most weapons. From what I can tell it's pointless unless you socket some sort of arcane damage type to the weapon.

So the question is: If a weapon does not have innate arcane damage, is it worth it to socket arcane to take advantage of the arcane scaling?

No. What socketing an arcane gem into a weapon does is completely change the damage into arcane and completely remove the physical scaling. Only use arcane gems if you have an arcane build.

Also, every weapon has arcane scaling, but that only activates if you either socket in an arcane gem, or if the weapon has innate arcane damage, on the attacks that add that arcane damage.

Rom is such a motherfucker. I forgot how irritating she was between my first and second run, but by god did she remind me.

I managed to beat Rom first time on my character, I was so confused why everyone hated her. Then I tried it again...

Killed Rom a few times now (CD, NG+/++). Strat that seems to consistently work is to attack its right side, but be close enough to the head so it tries to turn toward you like a beached whale.

Keep moving in small increments so the spiders miss you and book it when Rom rolls on its back or its head and tail rise up.

    Also, don't lock on.

I never got out of yharnum on my first play through. But I'm in bed for the next 2 weeks so I got it for my system and I just stumbled on to rom. Got half way through her HP when 3 or 4 dark ice meteors one shot me.

It's fucking amazing. The amount of info at your disposal is insane. The book it self is solid and resembles a quality hard cover academic text or something fancy like that. The item descriptions, lore catalog, bestiary, and so many others things make this guide a honest to god worth it buy if you want to invest more time in this game. I love it and may favorite parts of the guide are the art, lore collection, bestiary, maps, and item/event legends. It's pretty straight forward and easy to understand too.

For anyone on the fence about this guide; the books come with a free ebook version. I can't remember if it's downloadable or only view-able online, but it's easy to work around if that's the case. You can download/convert it to pdf/epub/whatever and put it on an ebook reader or tablet and use CTRL-F to find shit very quickly. It's definitely worth buying IMO.
