Some of it could have been written better. It got a little clunky, but overall, yeah, pretty awesome.

The showdown with the Red King in Mexico was pretty awesome.

Leah also transformed Harry's clothes n'duster into an impervious suit of armor for added fun.

The Blackstaff is pretty scary. Any thoughts on what the black tendrils entering McCoy from the staff are? Maybe sucking his soul to power the death magic? Either way, killing 200 people per wave of a staff seems like a pretty good return on investment

I'm weak minded when it comes to books I wait so long to read, so I read spoilers and still can't wait to read the book itself. As for revelations:
Eb being Harry's grandfather isn't really surprising when think about it.
Harry as Winter Knight - it's big and I hope that in next book we will see more about it.
Susan dead - no big surprise, but how and what it's used for, that's wow.
Fate of every vampire from Red Court - BIG surprise. I didn't see it coming.
Ending - so we know why in Side Jobs Murphy will have story happening 5 minutes after ending. She will probably save Harry from dead. I'm courious about two things - which part of body Harry was shooted (this is question for people who read) and who did this. Maybe Kincaid who didn't like possible Harry/Murphy .

Kiln, how does Maggie react to Harry?

They don't really interact. By the time Harry finds her she's mostly catatonic with fear. She doesn't speak at all throughout the entire book. When Harry finally rescues her she just falls asleep/passes out.

Also, for corrective purposes, in my spoilers I mention Meciel, instead it should be Lasciel... Shezza's stories have apparently worked their way into my brain on a level I'm not entirely comfortable with. Thanks for the correction Sol.

I would like to know more details about what happens at the end. How clear is it that what happens to Harry is as permanent as it appears. Is he hit directly in the head/brain/heart or might he survive with immediate aid?

Seems hard to imagine that he would die for good, but after seeing some of the other spoilers I cannot help but wonder if Butcher will totally screw with us that far and have the next book from POV of someone else.

Harry is shot just to the left of the sternum. He falls into lake Michigan and starts to sink. In the last line of the book he says he can hear the horn and engine of an oncoming train. So I think it's safe to say that we're not done with Harry yet... I'm thinking maybe Mab or one of the other higher powers intervened but it's certainly not definitive.

There's no way Mab will let him die before she's got the chance to make him the Knight. And Murphy was on her way back to pick him up, she could easily be there to see him fall in. It was dramatic, but it's an easy enough cliffhanger for him to get out of.

Although of course, knowing Butcher, that oncoming train could easily be another boat that's about to mow him down...
