I was recently thinking about Geor-sama's great Naruto fics "Altered Histories" and "Shinobi Wars" and how the twist of no one knowing that Naruto has the Kyuubi might play out in HP with no one knowing that Harry Potter survived an Avada Kedavra from Voldemort. Any good fics that pulled this off in an interesting way?

Uh... I don't think I've ever seen this type of fic before.

 

Geor-sama did a great job with that story, but I've never seen it in the HP fandom. I think there was a plot bunny here on DLP a few years back where Dumbledore showed up right before Voldemort attacked Harry, shot a spell at his exposed back and looked to have killed him. Everyone including Dumbledore assumed he actually killed Voldemort, but in reality the Killing Curse backfired like in canon. Dumbledore didn't see the spell backfire so no one knows Harry survived the curse. Yeah, I don't think I did that plot bunny any justice with that summary.

Yeah, I searched for a while before posting this and wasn't able to find anything either. The closest was Kwan Li's "The Other Boy Who Lived" which was posted in the Almost Recommendable thread (at this point I think it's seriously library worthy) but it's not quite the same as there's still a Boy-Who-Lived albeit not the Boy-Who-Lived. The plot bunny was definitely a nice read and an interesting way to go about it though so thanks for posting it EvilSpanker.

 

There's also a "Wrong BWL" story on Fanficauthors, but I don't remember which author wrote it, except the twist was of course, Dumbledore thought Neville was the BWL, but was in fact Harry, and Harry married 2 characters and went off to some school where they could only join if they were married. It was pretty amusing, but probably not what you're looking for, exactly.
