Like the tittle says I've come up with an idea but need some help fleshing it out. Otherwise I'd just leave it in the plot bunny thread. Have any of you seen the anime Narutaru? It starts out happy and bright and sunny, and has the darkest endings of any anime I've ever seen.

Story's about a girl who finds an adorable monster thingy, they call it a dragon, that has super powers and answers to her. In other words like ever generic super powered Japanese anime. Except in this one it doesn't take long for the teenagers suddenly given godlike powers to abuse them all over the place. That's really all you need to know about the anime.

What's important is a scenario where immature kids are given all the power. I'd like to recreate that in regards to Harry Potter. Currently the best idea I've got revolves around magical inheritance. Yes that crappy plot device that was created to soul bound Harry to Ginny/Hermione/Draco/Snape. Rather than it being a 16th birthday thing, how about a magical explosion of some sort awakens the dormant fey magic in most of the Hogwarts students.

Idea is that wizards originally got their magic from interbreeding with magical creatures, fey. These traits have largely vanished over the years and suddenly all of them return. Muggleborns wouldn't get any powers as they have no fey blood to work with. Suddenly the students would have innate abilities stronger than most adult wizards, supper powers. I can see this happening on a Hogsmead weekend during Harry's second year, thereby explaining away many of the older students. Although I could see this happening at any point up till Harry's fifth year. It needs to happen early on so the specter of Voldemort isn't hanging overhead.

At first everything is fine, students have special abilities. But it won't take the students long to realize that they are more powerful than the professors and a group of students will kill or drive out the professors and seal Hogwarts from the outside. This would result in a Lord of the Flies type of situation that would pit student versus student.

That's one of the way's I can see this going, the other is with the revenge of a bullied student now granted power over their oppressors. Honestly I think there's probably a better way to set it up, hence the thread.

Decent idea, awful plot device. Try harder.

Great job not reading. I mentioned the plot bunny thread in the first paragraph but didn't post it there as things vanish as soon a someone posts a new idea, and I'd like some help fleshing this one out.

Avoid the manga high-school environment at all costs.
