I doublechecked the number of people who signed up, and we still need one more player.

This game is closed (which means that the roles aren't in the OP) and has role reveal on death (when someone dies, their role and alignment are revealed).

The flavor is custom, which I will hopefully put some work in if I have time. (I'm not really a flavor guy )

The game revolves around the gold mechanic. Each player will have a role that interacts with gold in some manner. Players may spend gold to activate abilities. This game will explore some design space regarding abilities that are limited by gold; if successful I will make future games exploring this mechanic.

...I'm actually a little disappointed. I enjoyed the No-Reveal games. More challenging.

However, I'm also excited about the gold concept though. Do we all start with a set amount? Are there ways we can gain more, or lose some?

Anyone who wants a mentor should be able to get one, especially if they want to get better at something (for example making cases or something like that).

I don't know if Eidolonic still comes on, but he was like mafia genius.

 

You know by acting in a sense like that you are making the game borderlined bastardized by saying "i cant answer questions"

if you are going to do the "i cant answer that" game when its a perfectly legitament questions, im gonna /out.

hosts should be clear cut on answers. If they have a reason for not answering besides "bastardization" i would like to know in advance

I love games and all but when i ask questions i expect answers unless its clearly stated that host wont do so or has a reason to not answer it.

i also love basterdized type setups as well, but if this is going to be non-bastardized standard, any and all questions should be able to be answered unless it can be justified on why it can not.

 

It's a closed setup, I don't think it's unreasonable for some things to be kept in the dark. Also, this isn't in-game, you can edit your posts instead of letting them automerge (@both Maiden and ika).

Incidentally, if you need replacements, I'm in. Or if there's an open slot, I guess.

 

even with closed setups, any questions asked past that should be able to be answered. i mean for now i can accept things not being answered.

but once game begins anything ask should have an answer to follow

as for editing: lazy i dont think it makes too much of a diffrence for edit vs automerge, does it?

 

ika, as a former moderator, I can say that if the gold mechanic works like I think it does, then just asking "How does the gold mechanic work" would involve a lengthy explanation and would also reveal some of the particular roles as from what I can tell, each role interacts differently with the gold. That's not something a good game host wants or needs to do. Therefore the answer has to be "I can't tell you that" unless Proph wants to go ahead and just make it an open game.

He's not being a bastard!mod, just calm down and wait until game start. Then, ask them in your QT, if he still refuses to answer, then you can get all huffy.

 

Ika, for the love of god. Relax.

As for the gold mechanics, just think about it. It's probably just a token system. The game is under review, that has nothing to do with him wanting to hold out on us.

That said, if you are serious about leaving the game, at least we have Moridin to replace you.

Hey guys, I see some newbies (should I even be using this term yet?) here going for /obs to get a feel of DLP's play.

That's great, something that you can also do is join this game. It's specifically geared towards new people to the site, or new players in general, so you might want to check it out, playing while observing this one.

thats fine if i have to wait for game to begin. however me who was playing a game where mod decided to answer questions with more riddles then answers or going "cant tell you" DURING the game. is my problem.

pre-game im kinda more ok with waiting.
