    Yeah I think we've hit the comfortable range where the forums are easy to use and you pracically know who everyone is. What I'm a bit worried about is if idiots start joining and the ratio of idiots:non-idiots starts to become unfavourable e.g. on most other successful HP forums

    Or perhaps it's both of the factors? vB in my opinion is easier to use, more professional, and all around a better experience. That combined with the fact that DLP has turned into a somewhat cult religion. :)

    it's not just the move to VB that's making the numbers go up.

    As Raven explained it on IRC, previously a user was timed out at 5 minutes of no activity. So you'd go to read a thread and you'd be counted offline by the system after 5 minutes. I know I'd time out a ton, as I'd open all windows for the new posts at once and sit and read for a half hour or so.

    Now it keeps you timed in for a bit longer, giving a far better idea of what's really going on.
