Black Spindle daily back up. Wish I'd noticed last night... I'll have two fjord 9 again to try and get a fireteam and get it.

Actually contemplating if it's worth the headache. I kind of want a sniper with Cocoon atm...

 

I'm not sure if Black Spindle is worth the headache. I was able to get one the first time it came around and even with a good fireteam it was a struggle. It is a pretty good sniper with fantastic impact but I find myself only using it in certain situations. Great gun for pouring on DPS on a boss when you can easily chain precision hits but I find myself using my 1000 yard stare far more often.

 

Just found out it's still 310. Gonna try infuse my 1000ys

 

Yeah I thought the hotfix Bungie put out today was going to address that. Looks like I was wrong and I may need to run it again.

 

Is anyone up right now that can do the Black Spindle? I'll be home in around 40 mins...

To be fair, a lot of the player base are idiots. You need only look at the heroic playlist if you want a taste of what matchmaking for raids would be like.

Solo? Lolno you need 3 people. 3 GOOD people, with high Light level and good snipers and heavy weapons.

That's were Destinyfg.net comes in.

 

The single most important factor is making sure the blights (big black balls) are destroyed as soon as possible. They'll keep popping up at various intervals (tied to boss health) and you need to get rid of them or you'll be overwhelmed with adds. Besides that, having someone with arc weapons *coughzhalosupercellcough* on the left to get rid of Centurions is very helpful. Stormcallers + Sunbreakers are great for dealing with adds in general.

I find Black Spindle to be fantastic for the Warpriest and Golgoroth. Outside of those two encounters (or this week's solar burn nightfall, I suppose) I just use 1000-Yard Stare.

Eeeeeh, screw Trials. I still haven't managed to go 9-0 and get to that Lighthouse.

I do PvP relatively often, but not to the extent that would make me an unstoppable killing machine, and I don't know many others who take Trials serious enough to have strats and everything.

Get a Sniper with cocoon for the raid. Unload, then swap to your primary or heavy for 10 seconds, then swap back to a fully reloaded sniper.

Works great with ToM or TJR for never reloading rotations.

 

All the raid weapons get that as a perk, Hugplx. Makes the Machine Gun and Shotgun amazing, since they have fairly slow reload times.

And Trials of Osiris can be really hit or miss at times. A lot of the PvP players take it extremely seriously and try to pretty much cheat their way to a flawless. Not only between that and people outright selling victories, it can make going perfect fairly difficult for a somewhat mediocre reward.

So on an unrelated note, anyone found any new secrets while exploring the Dreadnought and the like? I've been currently trying to get my Antiquated Rune charged doing the Court of Oryx, but the Tier 3 bosses definitely need a good team or a lot of patience.

 

I wish you could just auto-load into a populated court instance.

 

I have a good group that I usually go to the Lighthouse with, but I'm interested to see how the difficulty increase (matching up teams that have made similar progress on their passages) will change things. I would say that Trials rewards are fantastic if you're really into PvP; otherwise there's not too much of a draw beyond elemental primaries.

 

Today I realized that a couple days ago I dismantled my 304 raid Chest armor and am still wearing my 300 raid Chest piece.

So I've taken to trying to farm the class specific legendaries. I got Taniks' cloak accidentally ages ago, and it looks awesome on my Hunter.

Trying to get those crazy Warlock gauntlets from Echo Chamber (Theosyon Vibrasse or something). The only thing slowing my farm is the broken matchmaking. I get loaded in solo so many times...
