Okay I tried this fic when you first put it out and then it just wasnt for me I have spent the last couple days reading when I could and suprisingly I like. You can probably tell from my post of FtCD I like that one but this one is pretty good.

I love the Angimus stuff.

That was a great chapter Jbern. Favourite animingus of any story ever. Top 3 fics for me.

You should have Harry's troll buddy come help him fight the attacking trolls.

 

Jbern, I'd just like to thank you for the quick updates, as your fic is the only one i actively read anymore, and I would say it is my favourite fic....ever.

Can't wait to see Harry build up his power, kick ass in his animsgus form and when the next fic comes out, with him back in England, show Voldie and the Order just how much he's improved

Chapter 13 is up!

It is ten times the size of the tease! Hopefully the action will keep your blood pumping. The warding will keep you interested. The bit of romantic angst will surprise you and the ending ... well that would be spoiling it for you now wouldn't it?

You'll notice some changes from the tease. Worg is just one potion that has 4 possible forms. The gang pointed out how overused wolves are. The whole Hermione owling the goblins thing should get a few laughs.

Great chapter jbern, thunder in a bottle, that's great.

How can a jaguar kill so many bears though? Are they goblin sized bears, because real bears are about 10-12 feet tall and can weigh several thousand pounds.

Hack is back, that great I was waiting for him, that quote is totally my new sig in a about a week.

 

Harry only fought one bear. The others were boars (wild pigs) or jackals. Little mutts. The goblin bears were about 6 foot (2 meters) tall. We're talking run of the mill brown/black bear size not Kodiak or Grizzly size.

Oh, alright, Black bears where I live though (Q.C.I) are almost as big as grizzly's and in some cases as big as.

The trolls hide seems a little soft to die from a blaster from Harry.

 

That chapter was awesome! I love the punchline for this chapter, and wish I had problems like that. I LOVE how the H/L dynamic is working out and wish I could see the "ink mishaps" that happen when I screw up a relationship.

I really like the runic traps we saw in this chapter. Keep writing, this is one of the updates I look forward to most.

 

Nah the troll got hit in the face with a bludgeoner. It knocked it out. The four snakes finished it off. Though another volley from Harry might have finished him off.

Glad you liked the runic traps. You'll notice Harry's runic trap envy was a bit more amusing than in the tease. More coming in next chapter. This time they have to assault the goblins and their traps. *Grins Evily* My stated goal with this story is to make a few more people write cursebreaker!Harry stories.

Awesome. War(d)fare rules! I'd also like to join in Hack's welcoming choir. That last line almost killed me. Another great touch was the audible indication that Bill was airborne. Great use of a hilarious plotdevice. I'm still a bit taken by the lunarian sequences. You made her so incredibly real with that "cover-up". Certainly true to the personality you've established.
Next stopper was the idea of watching Catbrain in a pensieve. I came up with the notion that English and American differ in enough ways that the word clarity might be subtly misinterpreted. Since the human and the kitty are equal, perhaps Balance would be easier for the Britkid to fully grasp? Just a
thought. The concept of equality of the shapes could work as the great eyeopener.
I missed Karina a bit, but since i foresee a flaming row there i guess you thought you had enough violence already. Good on yez.

Could someone explain this line to me because it just seemed odd in both the teaser and the main chapter, which was excellent by the way. Love the runic trap envy. So are we two or three chapters away from chapter 1?

 

I think it just means it is a blasting type ward which will blow up like a muggle land mine.

Love the Harry/Luna writing. You have such a talent for writing realistic dialogue that I wonder if you have just not had a really screwed up and interesting life and are inserting your experiences here and just changing the names.

Hacks line... the best one liner yet.

I got a strange case of dajavu when seeing Harrys ward go into action like I had seen it in another story. Have you seen it before and just altered it to fit here?

It's really annoying to review stories this good, because you don't have anything to point out except to tell the author what a great chapter it was.

 

The line was messed up in both the tease and the final. So much for my attention to detail. I originally wrote the sentence as Collins and Kwan each.... The problem arose when I decided to give Kwan the origami animals. I'll fix it when I do 'housekeeping' on the chapter. I have that and a couple of other things to fix like using inferius where I should have used inferi. Stuff like that. I was too eager to get it out on the web.

Thanks for all the other kind words. Another thing I need to do is thank Cowboyweasel for inspiring me to have Luna tell Harry how Ancient runes conducts it's class for OWLs and what not. It got me going on her "Joy of Hair" project and even led to the Beowulf aside. Thanks for helping me beef up the details.

Karina returns next chapter, whether Harry wants her to or not. We are 3 to 4 chapters away from the events of chapter 1 depending on how long and how much goes into each chapter.

Interesting chapter. About the ending though, that might be a problem that everyone needs to experience to …umm fully appreciate that “troubling” experience.
As for the runic traps, how are they activated? By a spell or just a proximity “fuse” if the latter then how is that activated?
That was funny with the bit about the insatiable thirst for knowledge that Hermy Funbags has and her almost illegal pursuit of it. Hate to admit it but sometimes smart people can do some very stupid things.
With the /<start booming echoing announcer voice> “Flaming Spears of Death” /<end booming echoing announcer voice > you have kept adding to Harry’s ability to think very quickly on his feet. I also like the animalistic thought patterns that you have used to show that he still isn’t quite in control when he is in jaguar mode. Gotta love the !big brother Bill and his bedside manner. “So does Goblin taste like chicken?” Will Harry ever be able to stomach any of his kills or will he always need a 5 (or 55) gallon bucket? I also liked the Harry/Luna/Looney interaction, this also shows that Harry is still learning some of the intricacies of the dealings with the opposite sex that are beyond stick tab a into slot b.
The realism that the runes don’t perfectly work when they try to upgrade the original to the working /<start booming echoing announcer voice> “Flaming Spears of Death” /<end booming echoing announcer voice > is a touch that makes this story believable.
