Summer finale? What does that mean? I'm only just starting to catch onto how TV series work, having just started watching them.

I take it that means there will be a break after tonight? :(

You don't sound Veri convincing. :awesome

@Elli: that's just USA being gimmicky; it's the season finale.

EDIT: Well. That was rather tame. Good and bad highlights, as follows:

    - Michael saving Fi was a given, I suppose. There just wasn't much excitement leading up to it.

    - Fi having a brother was so-so. I have a feeling that the people after her aren't quite done with her yet.

    - Michael shooting Stricker was unexpected, but him being dirty wasn't.
    - Diego: was he killed, or did whoever was after him spook him? The bottle of Jack makes it ambiguous, which I like.
    - The selling of the Saab and the death of the classic Caddy prolly signals more product placement. Non-essential to te plot, but still gheeey.
    - Michael/Fi is still gonna be awkward, at least I hope so.
The constant setbacks could get old, quickly. Hopefully next season sees a resolution on his burn notice, i.e. He stays burned, and profits from freelancing his skills with Sam and Fi.

That was an awful pun. But, in all seriousness, yeah, I'm pretty god damn excited. On the other hand, I'm sad because this'll be the last one for a while.

What the fuck? Only 9 episodes in the season? What the fuck?

I'm fucking pissed now. Why is this?

Edit: Wait, now that I think about it, I think I get it. Shows in summer have short seasons, whereas shows such as Supernatural which start around september have long seasons? Ie, 20-24 episodes etc etc?

According to tv.com season 3 has no less than 15 episodes. There is a break after 9th, something similar to what was in 4th season of Prison Break.

Watched it, liked it. Fuck yeah IRA. The whole debate about patriot vs. baby murderer was nice.

Just finished downloading the episode, and watched it.

Fucking epic. I loved how he killed Strickler. Overall, it was just excellent.

Edit: KrazQ, how long is the break for? Because that really did come across as an end of season episode.

It'll be way too long, it says "returning in 2010". According to wiki, this season will have 16 episodes.

About the episode, I loved it. It seems that Strickler grossly miscalculated Michael's reaction.

It'll probably be like last season, they did 9 summer and then 7 finishing in Jan-March. We got 9 this summer, and at least 6 scheduled beginning probably mid-January. Hence the "summer" finale but not the "season" finale.

And yes, it's been renewed for a 4th season of 16 episodes.

30 second teaser (which spoils the summer finale if you've not seen it or been reading this thread) on the front of its website: http://www.usanetwork.com/series/burnnotice/

And yeah, I liked last night's episode a lot. Just to see him straight up, in the guy's face kill a man when his own life wasn't really being threatened.

That and it was nice seeing Harry Dresden as an Irish baby killer.

Needs moar John Mahoney. I was really looking forward to him as "Management" this season.

Summer finale was okay, but something of a retread of the first season finale (when Sam was the one who got kidnapped by mercenary types)

Just finished season 2. INCREDIBLE ending when he jumps out. Music is perfect. The acting on the boat was awesome.

That's good to see. The only problem I have with Michael is how he's so reluctant to actually kill someone. That and the fucking yogurt. Wtf is with the yogurt.

I'm guessing that the yogurt thing [which kind of disappeared anyway] is Michael's way of having a harmless habit in his rather random and chaotic life. Also, he can kill you with it.

In one of the director's or actor commentary's they explain that yogurt is a fast protein/nutrient rich food that's easy to grab and go.

It's constant through the first 2 seasons, Mike even gets mad about it a few times, and Harlan is pouring beer into his yogurt when they're meeting.

Grab and go protein I get I guess.

New season just started. First 3 episodes are going to be posted the day after on Hulu, so Season 4 Episode 1 is available now.

Not a bad start to a new season. Anyone else still semi-following this?

Ending makes it look like we might be getting a new team member this season, will be interesting to see how that plays out if it happens. Then we have the traditional "man behind the scenes for the season" as well, this one seems more interesting than most of the others.

Your definition of "just" is a little off, S04E01 aired ~126 hours ago.

This new member, are you talking about that spy Michael burned? Because that doesn't seem likely to me.

I still follow and enjoy it, however I expect the overarching story will wear thin soon (already has started for me, to be honest) if we don't get some freaking resolution to the burn notice. But since the show has already been picked up for a fifth and sixth season (what the hell? The fourth season hadn't even started when that was announced!), I doubt we'll get any anytime soon.

Season opener was entertaining, though not the strongest episode. Heard there was to be a new member to the team. Probably will turn out to be a villain. I hope so, at least, because the show is strongest when focusing on Michael, Fiona and Sam working together.
