    Inspired by this.

Feel free to pile on if you've got a good one. I'll warn you, though, once you put your mind in that place, it's kind of hard to shift gears; you'll probably end up going to some pretty odd mental places.

This was in the HP meme thread quite a while ago. It fits perfectly (personal favorite is "Hagrid's pumpkins swelled to the size of garden sheds").

"I didn't," said Harry, staring up at him. "I didn't put it in. I was telling the truth."

"Ah. . . okay," said Cedric. Harry could tell Cedric didn't believe him. "Well . . . see you, then." - Harry & Cedric, Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire

"I didn't put it in!" said Harry, grinning broadly. … "I wanted Ron to think I'd done it, so I faked it when I knew you were looking." - Harry, Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince

Actually, I was specifically thinking about the Felix Felicis scene, and used ctrl-F3 to find "I didn't put it in" so I could check the scene's exact wording.

When it landed on the GoF scene, first, I decided to use it, too, since it hinted at a continuing narrative. One wonders who Harry is trying to fool, and why. :sherlock:
