Next time, let's do it without the tiger.

    I love this show.

Overall it was an excellent episode, though I really did think that some of the flirting was overdone.

The atmosphere in the episode was just fantastic though. On one hand, Castle is a pretty light hearted show, but on the other hand things just didn't look good. Especially with the opening of the locked chest in the room. Then the introduction of the tiger was hilarious.

So that bit with the old woman in the cage is I can honestly admit the first time I have ever been genuinely creeped out over something that happened in Castle.

For Christmas can I see a pissed off Castle? Like I want him to be so completely angry about something that he snaps at Beckett so fast that she even shuts up. I don't know what, something happening to Alexis or Martha, like a kidnapping or somesuch that puts them in harms way and I see Castle channel a bit of that tortured war hero Cpt. Malcolm Reynolds-esc that makes everybody around him really stop and stare. We've seen hints of Castle's anger but never truly seen it unleashed. He's argued with Beckett but never got to her, he started to go back at Josh (who had like a foot on him), but my favorite would have to be when Volcan Simmons got under Beckett's skin and Castle stared him down. Now I know the anger is there simmering, but Castle is such a happy-go-lucky guy it's hard to spot and I think it would be fantastic to unleash in an episode as I think it is one true bit of character we haven't fully glimpsed.

Now I'm getting this half-baked idea of someone close to Castle getting into trouble or being murdered and Beckett throws him out after he does some sort of knock-down-drag-out in the precinct that stops everybody in their tracks. From which he receives the classic 'You're too close to this case' line. After he goes home he starts his own case to rescue/revenge and we get a similar ending as "To Love and Die in L.A." when Beckett went after Roy's killer. But the crutch would have to be it can not be Beckett in trouble. There needs to be some friction between those two in the episode or the conflict just isn't as intense. And that well has been gone to a bit often in this show.

Or this could be the show jumping the shark on the realistic scale. I just really want Castle to throw Beckett for a loop for once, that isn't "Oh-my, he really cares about me." More like "Holy shit, I'm a little scared at what he might do right now." We get to see K Becks lose control but never really Castle.

Really? I didn't think it was that great. Though I guess I'm not a fan of flashback style episodes of anything.

Though I will admit that I actually did end up caring about what happened to Vera and the other dude, and felt sad when it appeared that they had died. Did love the end reveal about how the bartender was actually the PI, still living with Vera.

Fire is always fishy. Just saying. But yeah it still surprised me. Good episode. You got to see more romance from the usually more frigid Beckett.

    What.

Didn't realize this was a two-parter. This is a good one, although I think the fact that math can bring down the entire US is stretching my suspension of disbelief a bit... Definitely want to see the conclusion.

Pandora. Butterfly was kind of fun.

The whole "Math is Power" schtick alone is annoying, though bringing in yet another big-time conspiracy that's only around for a two-parter when we've got Beckett's mama drama still in the background isn't helping. The addition of Ashley into the police force also didn't sit well with me, as it just seemed kinda obvious that they were doing it to keep the character in the show more/use her as a hostage in the second half of this two parter.

Still though, there were some fun Beckett/Castle moments, so it wasn't all for lost.

    I absolutely loved this episode.

You don't sit down to watch an episode of Castle and expect believable TV. You sit down and watch an episode of castle because you hope it will be fucking awesome.

I thought this was fucking awesome. Castle looked like he was in heaven since the moment he found himself in that secret CIA base. The whole Alexis as a ME intern was a good counterpoint to it as well.

Can't wait to see next week's episode.

So, how about that episode, eh?

I knew she was the problem from the first episode. It was just too easy for it to be her, but that was my first thought when she showed up, and lo and behold! Intriguing episode.

Best part was the Castle daddy problems. Bar none.

And also- I agree with El completely, you can't walk into an episode of Castle expecting any sort of realism.

This plot was especially stupid and the writers should stick to mundane murder mysteries.
