I've read too many stories that feature Voldemort as a pushover, nutter, maniac, etc. Do you guys know any nonslash stories that feature Voldemort as a charismatic/intelligent/powerful, but evil villain. Preferably with a good Dumbledore and intelligent Harry.

Stranger in Unholy Land has a very strategically-minded Voldemort who actually knows what the hell he's doing. If you've never read it, the twist... oh, the twist.

Prince of the Dark Kingdom. In my opinion the best fandom Voldemort. Perfect blend of canon madness and sleek, intelligent villainy.

The Voldemort in that makes it worth it to slog through the preposterous length of that story. It is the only work in the fandom that has managed to pull of the demented logic that psychopaths posses. The type that can bewitch you into believing in their madness.

1.25 million words??? Isn't that longer than the entire HP series combined? How long does it take to read this behemoth?
Anyways, thanks for the recommendation. I'll read the Stranger in Unholy Land first and then tackle the Prince of the Dark Kingdom.

POTDK is about as long as the canon series at this point, but it's not finished.

It hasn't been updated in over a year and before that, the last few updates were months apart. At this point I'd say it's most likely abandoned. What's there though is great. Year six may be the best part.

Dear God, not that piece of junk Prince of a Dark Kingdom. While I do admit it fits your requirement of a Charismatic, Intelligent Voldemort (so few Fics do), I personally didn't enjoy it.

Stranger in an Unholy Land, on the other hand, would be a great choice. It even has a good sequel to follow, albeit an abandoned one.

We like what we like. I take issue with people calling POTDK a piece of junk. Then again, I also take issue with people calling MOR good.

I've a better idea, someone write a fic with a Voldemort in the style of a Christoph Waltz villain.

    Hm...

"Now if one were to determine what attribute the Pureblood people share with a beast, it would be the cunning and the predatory instinct of a hawk. But if one were to determine what attributes the Mudbloods share with a beast, it would be that of the rat. If a rat were to walk in here right now as I'm talking, would you treat it to a saucer of your delicious milk?

    "Probably not."

"I didn't think so. You don't like them. You don't really know why you don't like them. All you know is you find them repulsive. Consequently, a Pureblood soldier conducts a search of a house suspected of hiding Mudbloods. Where does the hawk look? He looks in the barn, he looks in the attic, he looks in the cellar, he looks everywhere *he* would hide, but there's so many places it would never occur to a hawk to hide. However, I left my villa in Brighton and went to Scottish cow country today is because it does occur to me. Because I'm aware what tremendous feats human beings are capable of once they abandon dignity."

Yes, yes, feel the anger. Let it flow through you. Soon your journey to the dark side will be complete.
