Excellent oneshot about Hermione and her parents. Summary provided by the author is not the best one as it neither AU or a pointless canon rehash.

It's okay. No, really. Not great, not terrible, just okay. 3/5

    As Xandrel said.

There's nothing stand out about this. But at the same time, it doesn't suck.

    3/5

Not bad, though I agree that it's more of a borderline 3.5/5 for me than anything.

There's nothing that particularly stands out. It's average, therefore 3/5.

An O.K. story, but nothing really jumps out at me as being excellent. 3.4/5

I'm going to agree with everyone else on this.

The most glaring issue to me is that the fic simply lacks a point.

I mean, I get that there's this poignant moment at the end when Hermione realizes that she's going to be the protector from now on. But for all of the great thematic possibilities that should have struck a cord in a scene like that (End of innocence, role reversal, etc.) It just fell flat...

It just didn't resonate in any way.

Decent writing but it's incomplete-- more of a vignette, actually.

    2 stars.
