Anyone here watch Clannad and Clannad: After Story?

I quite enjoyed the first season, and After Story is even better.

 

I followed the original season when it was on. Didn't even realise the second season had started.

For me, the first part was far too sappy. I mean, I can enjoy happy moments and a happy ending but it seemed that there was very little conflict in the whole story/show. Also, from what I've heard about the actual game, a lot of aforementioned conflict and the deeper parts story was left out. It shows in that the only two of the characters seemed to really have their stories fleshed out - the names escape me, but it was the little girl with green hair and the socially inept, exceptionally intelligent girl.

I muchly prefer Kanon. Now that had a great story and managed to fit the stories of the lead characters in relatively evenly and well paced. Only problem I had with Kanon was the romance appeared from nowhere at all.
