I started playing back in year 2000(?), when it still looked like this.

I kept at it for a long time, reaching semi fame as a senja pk on Antica for awhile before moving to Amera when it started up. Got to a semi high level and ragequit once they introduced the skull system. I far exceeded the 'allowed' kill amount on any given day.

 

I have fond memories of the first two Broken Sword games -- adventure point-and-click, won't keep you busy for more than a week, but superbly executed and very funny at times. They're currently working on a fifth installment in the series, and, thankfully, they've switched from 3D to 2D again (the 3rd and 4th were 3D and not very appreciated by the fans).

Also, like many people said, Age of Empires.
