Eh, I think you guys are praising it too much. It's pretty much the same plot as that other Gundam anime Sunrise put out 2-3 years ago... oh god, I can't remember what it was called, but it was practically the same plot-wise –– it even had some of the same episode-scenarios.

I liked the first couple episodes, but everything went down hill after the episode dedicated to Kallen. Mao was a joke, I seriously considered not finishing the series when he was revived from the dead for no apparent reason, other than to fill up an episode with Suzaku's wall-climbing super-agility-bullshit. Sure Geass's got an evil protagonist, but even Death Note did better with that premise than this.

And it's being dubbed? I can't believe it. No way. How is all that excessive Japanese nationalism gonna fair in America? I'm already shivering at the mere idea.

Not their faults. Japanese can't pronounce single sounds (s like snake, t like take, m like m chum, z like chaz, etc.) since as infants they only hear syllables spoken (su, bu, fu, chi-yu, ku, ka, wa, ma, na, etc.). It is funny when they say "Yessu yo hai-nessu".

A firm snagged up the rights to this show. Which means it's now their property on US, which means DLP isn't going to be allowing folks to link to illegally obtained material. If you want the links, get them NOW, because they're going to be taken out immediatley.

Loved it, besides for the goofy costumes I thought it was a great anime. Kind of like Death Note-only not quite there.

I don't know if the second season has been released yet, but I'm going to check soon. The final episode was such a cliff hanger!

Oh god, that automatically failed. Who and what were they thinking when they choose that as his voice?

    A) The protagonist isn't evil. He's not even that selfish. That's the point.
    B) Mao is a ridiculously important character. That becomes clear later on.
    C) Its less about plot, more about the characters. Its a character driven plot.

    (But yeah, Karen episode blew).

edit: Doesn't disappoint. Great transition. I'm surprised they decided to do something different this time.

I wasn't disappointed either. It was a bit like the first episode, but I enjoyed it. They certainly didn't waste any time before putting Kallen in yet another revealing outfit, a bunny suit this time. Anyone else catch that the Emperor has a Geass as well? There are still some unanswered questions, but I'm eternally grateful that we didn't have to wait 6-8 episodes for Lelouch to get his memories back. Rollo is interesting as well. Possible Britannian spy sent by the Emperor? I miss Nunnally though. C.C. is still probably my favorite character and my distaste for Suzaku has risen even further, although he finally looks like he's actually going to fight with some backbone now. Those are most of my impressions from the first episode.

PS: Any Gundam 00 fans out there who noticed that a lot of the Nightmare Frames shown in the opening look like Gundams from Gundam 00. There's one that can transform just like Kyrios and the new pink haired girl has a frame that reminds me strongly of Virtue when she fires her gigantic gun.

The first episode was good. I'm glad Lelouch got his memories back right away.

I'm thinking the rebellion this time around will be a lot more difficult now that everyone knows he's Zero, and who the Black Knights are. A lot of his power came from the fact that no one knew who was behind the mask. Without anonymity, it will make him easier to target and get at.

I can't wait to see how he overcomes these hurdles. And if Britannia/Suzaku wins again at the end of this season, I will punch someone in the fucking mouth.

Demons In The Night: I agree completely about Britannia. I can't stand Suzaku. On the matter of Lelouch's identity, I don't think his identity as Zero is actually very well known. The Emperor, Suzaku, Cornelia, Shirly, and a few others may know, but I don't think they will be talking. Sunrise was pretty clear that they wanted him to lead his double life again.

Here's my question: How is it that Viletta, an ex-Knight, is teaching at the Ashford Academy after she regained her memories? Is she the Emperor's local spy or something?

Edit: And who's that new governor nigger?

Not sure on the Governor, probably a new character. I don't think he'll be much trouble. Viletta is a different story. If I'd hazard a guess I'd say she was there to spy on Lelouch while the plan to capture C.C. was going on, but she looked like she was having way too much fun. Plus she's not really keeping her abilities a secret. She jumped out a window and decked a student. She confuses me, but I think either she or Ougi will die in the end, notice they have their backs to one another in the opening.

Either we're right about her being a spai, or she's a red herring. And the pose... Didn't she and Jeremiah have the same kinda thing going on in the last few Season 1 episodes?

Edit: Yeah, I just rewatched 24-25, and Ima do a screenshot compare. Pics to follow.

    Comparison time!

Okay, this is from Season 1's 24-25 OP, stopped at the Jeremiah-Viletta part:

They're back to back, which I assume signifies they are "related" characters. Anyone who watched the show will agree that's a safe assumption.

Now, the Viletta-Ougi part of Season 2:

Ougi and Viletta are certainly back-to-back, but they're placed closer. I'm thinking this either means they're greater enemies, which may make sense considering Viletta shot Ougi in a fit of hatred during 24-25, but the greater possibility is that the Ougi-Viletta romance-ish-thing may continue, which means that Zero's about to stage a jailbreak. Thoughts?

Also, I downsized the pics as much as my primitive tech-impaired brain could manage. Am I inside size limits?

Interesting, I didn't remember that. I just checked an you're right, but I don't think they're connected at all. The Viletta/Jeremiah one has them appear on opposite sides of the screen, but the Viletta/Ougi one has them back-to-back. The facial expressions are different too. The Viletta/Ougi one looks more like they are sad, but the Viletta/Jeremiah one looks serious.

On another note, I doubt Viletta is a red herring. She regained her memories at the end of season 1 so, unless she lost them again, she knows that she is a Britannian soldier. It's possible she hasn't made contact with Britannia, but, even if that's true, she definitely has her own agenda. She'll be an interesting character to watch.

Well glad to see I wasn't the only one who liked the first episode.

Yep. Confirmed both in interviews and the Opening.

I get the feeling in some messed up Geass-y way Rollo IS Nunnally. Time will tell though.

    My exact thoughts.

The Emperor knows but I don't think he'll reveal it for the combined fact of it's his son and that they have claimed Zero has been executed. They'll likely claim the new Zero is merely a copycat. As for the Order, I believe that this can only make them stronger. I always had a fear that if his identity as a Brittannian was revealed the majority of the Order would dissolve. Here they've shown they know and accept him as their leader for it.

Well if they think they can get another coherent season out of it... but yeah I'll join you.

According to the Wikipedia page she's posing as a teacher to find leads about Zero. But know that Lelouch has his memories back it should lead to some interesting confrontations.

His names Carares apparently. From the looks of it he's a Brittanian purist/dicatator with a Sadistic streak.

More like disgust. She just found out the man that had been caring for her is someone she had been raised to believe was an animal. Smart, talking animal but still an animal.

Which builds on the theory they both have feelings for eachother but are caught on opposite sides.

Agreed. Maybe a pardon (or full citizenship) for Mogi in exchange for bringing in Zero??

Well those are just my thoughts. Hope this cleared some stuff up fro people.

Well that's a bit creepy. Possible because we have no idea what other Geass are out there but still creepy.

I think you're right that his identity being known in the Order is a good thing. They've had a whole year to think about it and still decided that they want him to lead them, although part of me wonders if its only because they are completely pathetic without him. My question is: What if they find out he is Britannian royalty? It's one thing to be led by a Britannian, but it's completely different if you find out he's one of the many many children of your oppressor.

I doubt that. With the way she reacted when she found out she wasn't "Chigusa," she probably regards that part of history with deep self-loathing.

Hmmm. I think personally that Lelouch's ancestry would be an interesting propaganda blow towards Brittania.
