Thought I'd post it seeing as how I've now hit six chapters and almost as many words as BtDL. Thanks to Zombie, Oz, Teresoul, KrzaQ and Nuhuh who've all helped me with this. I'll try and get it on PatronusCharm ASAP.

Oh and if you could drop me some reviews on FFNet, it'd be greatly appreciated. That number is directly linked to my self worth some how.

Not yet quite as good as By the Divining Light, but that did drop us straight into several chapters worth of awesome, both in terms of writing and world. This is - obviously - a little less intense thus far, but it remains high quality. Definitely one of my favourites, and an easy 5/5.

Your writing is amazing, NMB. You draw us (the readers) in without mercy.

Shinysavage hit the highlights of CS, and did it well--it's a great sequel and while not as intense or driven (yet) as BtDL, I fully expect it to be before long. It's been on my favorites list since you uploaded the first bits on ff.net.

    5/5 from me.

I can't overstate how good this is. The writing quality is excellent, and you can really create a world with amazing skill. Stories like this one spoil us as readers.

I really can't put in words how much I love this fic. The characterization, the magic, the tone, everything is just superbly done. I almost feel bad because I can't offer you any real constructive criticism.

    5/5 without a doubt.

It's made of just as much win as By the Divining Light was, and that story was completely fucking epic. Between you and Shezza, the stain left on Dumbledore's character by years of manipulative!fics has been lifted.

What I find totally epic about this story is that it - in its own indirect way - shows us how someone can be a "great" wizard that stands above all others without bringing things like mana pools into the equation.

Understanding of magic and sheer willpower is what puts Dumbledore, Riddle, and Harry above the others, and it's shown amazingly well here. Sure it's AU as this sort of magic is only vaguely touched upon in canon, but then again canon Harry was never a "great" wizard, so I could easily see this understanding of magic merging with the canon story.

    It works.

Oh, and the writing is pretty good too.

Excellent as always, Enembee. A worthy successor to BTDL indeed. A definite 5/5

Oddly enough, I never read BTDL before... so I decided to read that and then take a go at this.

I have to say, it was worth staying up this late for. It was an amazing read, and I now can't want for another update. Great writing, very flavorful use of Old World Magic, and a sound spring board for a lot of good stuff.

    Keep this shit up.

    5/5.

Why isn't this already in the library? Great fic, with a respectable update rate to boot.

I've been following this since the start of the prologue (if the BTDL can be called a prologue) and it is the best and maybe the only story that goes deep in the Old Magic. For that alone it gets 5/5, combine it with the writing style and great action and characters and it goes off the scale.

And... maybe work a little faster on the Skitterleap? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge and all that... Get cracking mate! :whipped:

    I like this very much.

    5/5.

But... I was slightly annoyed by Harry being BabyDumbledore! although that probably has more to do with my personal preferences then any problem with the actual writing. That said Harry must turn evil. It must happen. Just must. I've wanted that since reading this fic's prequel, but with the latest chapter of this, it might just be a possibility!

Harry here is such a showman. And he's talented. I wish cannon!Harry would apply himself like this.

5/5 for creating a very magical world

There aren't to many good Mentor!Dumbledore fics. BTDL and Conlaodh's Song are excellent examples of how it should be done.
