Anybody still gonna check this out? Been watching the pilot, but it seems kind of rushed. Then again, it's the pilot. Wondering if the actual premiere will be better.

 

I'm refusing to be swayed by poor pilot. I want this to succeed, so i'll be watching friday. (and lots of hoping)

 

I didn't think the pilot was too awful. I was just annoyed by the main helpless girl, who they're thankfully replacing.

 

So they wrote the first psychic out and replaced her with another? There must have been some backlash to her in the pilot.

I gotta admit, it was weird to hear a non-Keanu Jon, but I got over it quick. Helped to have an infinitely more likable Chazz, lol.

As for the episode, I enjoyed it, but it seemed paced far too quickly.

I can't help not hear Edward Kenway whenever Constantine is speaking.

 

That is because he was the voice actor for Edward Kenway.

Bit meh with awesome moments. Loved the random Fate helmet easter egg.

 

Kind of awesome that he did Kenway.

Is it sad that I'm most interested in Chazz's backstory and history?

 

I didn't really have a problem with Liv, but I also wasn't very sad to see her go, so I guess that told me something in itself.

Liked the Pilot, it was definitely stronger than most pilots.

 

Decent enough. I haven't seen or read any of the other Constantine stuff, so the characterization seems a bit... strange right now.

But I can see a lot of potential in this. It definitely had some moments of awesome. And cool songs.

 

The characterization seems just about right, I can confirm (at least in my opinion). I haven't read much of the Hellraiser stuff prior to New 52, but I've read a bit of Justice League Dark and Constantine, and the guy seems quite in character so far.

 

I don't mean strange as in bad, I just mean strange as in I'm clearly missing stuff that everyone else knows. The backstory etc.

Completely unremarkable and forgettable female lead didn't help either, so I'm quite looking forward to the new episode.

 

Same. Could anyone suggest ways to 'catch up' and learn about the universe. Also, is there anything other than comics to do with the universe as, to me, the world of comics looks pretty fuckin' scary and I've never really been interested in them.

That said, the episode felt kinda Dresden-ish which is a good thing as I love the Dresden Files.

 

If you want the quick and dirty Wikipedia is probably your best friend. Before I began reading comic books all my DC/Marvel knowledge came from reading the wikipedia pages on various characters.

 

You can waste several days of free time getting absorbed in the DC Comics Database.

I liked the second ep, but honestly it was about the same level of interesting as Grimm. Fun, but not much going on.

Zed is painfully attractive. That is all.

 

Yeah... it wasn't exactly bad. But I wouldn't call it good either.

I'm not as hopeful as I was after ep 1.

 

I couldn't get over how ridiculously loose he wears his tie. Annoyingly so.

 

I've been following it, so far I'm not by the pilot or second episode. The third one though, seems to have found it's footing a bit and I'm now somewhat excited for the next episode. It felt like a real return to the first Constantine tales.

Edit: The only thing really missing so far is all the deals, double deals and betrayals of the original stories.

 

I prefer the movie Papa Midnight.
