Why would a dementor's cloak be seperable from its being? I thought a dementor was just a magical black cloak that housed a dark thing. Its a great idea because the dementor's appearance suggests fogginess and cold, and in its primary function the cloak must be able to produce that. However, the cloak can float as well (it levitates) so why can't Harry float in the air? Maybe Harry will unlock the true powers of the cloak in the future.

How 'bout that, I'd given up on this one. Harry back at Hogwarts is interesting, though I guess I expected more of a reaction to the kid who went to azkaban coming back. Yeah, the other kids are scared, but I guess I was expecting greater repercussions.

The other thing that's starting to bother me is Harry's waxing poetic about the dark arts. Not that it doesn't have a place in the story, but it gets old pretty fast. It would be a shame if "loves the dark arts" becomes the foremost characteristic of Harry's personality.

Err, that came off more critical than intended, this story has a lot of potential. I probably just miss Bella.

 

I'm glad to see this being updated again; I wasn't a huge fan of the last couple of chapters, but this was a big improvement. Now I'm excited about it again...so here's hoping it won't be too long before the next chapter.

 

This raises some interesting ideas and is almost as good as Santi's. Almost but not quite.

Decent update. Harry's starting to grow on me, after the dip post Azkaban.

 

I had already given up on this story ever being updated, great!

The new chapters were very good, esp. Harry's claustrophobia in the halls and his problems adjusting to Hogwarts. And this burst of insanity in the forrest was great.

I wonder what is happening with his magic, he can't use normal spells because of excessive dark magic use?


Davis is irritating me a bit with her constant chattering and jokes and I don't understand why her and Blaise are even associating with Harry, he's not exactly pleasant company.

And just escaping Malfoy seems an insufficiant reason for them to be constantly hanging all over Harry.

 

I think I find Daphne more annoying than Davis at this point. Glad the story is rolling again.

 

Ugh, the prologue was great, but I couldn't get past chapter 2. It just turns incredibly bland. Big inheritance, big shopping spree blah blah blah.

 

I felt pretty much exactly the same, but I think the newest chapters show a vast improvement. It's worth sticking it out, if you can.

 

In this instance I liked the inheritance and shopping.

The Ministry and Dumbledore wanted to ruin him financially to control him and only managed to make him richer, Harry's glee at the irony of that was funny and well shown.

And Harry buying extremely expensieve clothes illustrates his belief in his own superiority that he developed in Azkaban. He sounds and dresses just like every rich pureblood and I find his attitude amusing.
The new clothes show the world how he sees himself and rubs his new fortune in Dumbledores face.

I think it was needed in this instance and fit in the story and Harrys character.

 

The newest chapter was great. Dumbledore's insistence that he help Neville was a bummer, but it goes well with the story so far.

I like Harry's defiance of the dementors.

His experiment with fiendfyre and its result was an entertaining read.

 

Overall I thought the new update was fairly average—good, but nothing special. However, I did love the Hardcore!Champions: Fleur's a bitch, Krum's a thug, and Harry's a murderer. Poor Neville...

 

I've really enjoyed the new updates and I think the story is on the fast track of becoming one of my favorites.

The latest chapter was good. The scene with the other champions was probably the best and most entertaining one, since jberns wrote his version of book 4. At least compared to other stories with story line around the same book.
Tonks reaction and comment about his maturity, along with a few other lines in the chapter show such a great promise, that I can't wait for the story to be updated.

 

Great! Hermoines ridiculous SPEW letter and the reactions of Harry's friends were hilarious.

And Dumbledore is getting more and more hateable - now he wants the insane dark murderer babysitting his useless saviour.
I can't wait for Harry's revenge on him, but I wonder how Harry will react to Voldemort if - when - he meets him.

Is Harry overcoming his problems with his magic, or can he still only use dark arts?

 

My impression is that he could use other forms of magic but it has to be for a good reason.
