Thalarian's fic had a concept very similar to Fate/Stay Night, and was, before it seemed to never become updated, perhaps my favorite fic.

 

I've neither played the game nor watched the anime but pictures from it are all over the internet and, I have to say, I really like the character design. I have a vague idea of the concept behind it and like that as well (as far as having potential for HP crossover material goes).
I've wondered on more than one occasion when we'll start seeing Fate/Stay NightxHarry Potter crossovers. In order to have any hopes of a good one being written, at least ten shitty ones will have to show up (probably more).

Considering it started as a game, even having the anime turn out as average would be a great accomplishment.

Heck, I don't mind cliches if they're well implemented. It's when people drop the cliche in out of nowhere with no preamble and then just move along, that I get annoyed. They use it because they read it elsewhere and liked it and then have the nerve to pop it in their story with no explanation because they A: have no imagination of their own and B: either figure their readers have already seen the cliche before too or they are simply too dumb to create their own set up for it and think readers won't notice. I'm not sure which is more sad.

 

Hmm... well. I'd write at least, the first chapter, and post here (and continue it if people liked it). – That is – if someone would suggest what Harry would "summon".

Merlin is kinda boring (or at least, I would save him for someone like Dumbledore to summon). And King Arthur/Arturia, I would keep for another. I'd rather not use an eastern hero for Harry, since it would look like I'm trying to do a ninja/samurai story. Robin Hood's no good... ah... hmm...

 

If you are going for an independent Harry, Guy Fawkes would work out quite well.

 

An Interesting crossover for an independent!Harry story would be with 'Black Lagoon'. That series is full of those sick, fucked-up bastards that some of us in this forum love to read or write about.

The difficult part is 'how to', but I would love to see it done.

 

Already got a Black Lagoon crossovers in the works. Has Harry taking the place of Rock after becoming a courier in order to travel the world on the cheap. I'll get around to it sooner or later.
